Chapter 11

Maddison's P.O.V

"Uhm, I'm gonna go over here babe". Hayes says nudging towards Noah and his friends

"Okay". I say furrowing my eyebrows

I get a really weird feeling in my stomach. Something isn't right.

"Olivia, could Maddie and I be alone for a second". I ask

"Yeah sure". She says a little confused

Olivia leaves and I turn around to Maddie who's putting her long blonde hair into a ponytail.

"So, whatcha wanna talk about". She ask worried

"Uhm... What's going on between you and hayes"? I ask

She stands there for a second looking for the words to say.

"I really don't wanna talk about it". She says

"Please". I whisper

She grunts and pulls me into the janitors closet.

"Have a seat cause this will take a while". She says motioning me towards a bucket

I sit on the bucket and wait for her to speak.

"Okay, so. Hayes and I meet in 2nd grade, we were best friends no one and I mean no one could separate us. I always had a little crush on him but I never told him. By the time 5th grade rolled around hayes and I were still best buds. I could tell him anything. My mom and dad had just divorced and my mom became a alcoholic. She meet this dude at a bar one night and brought him home. I was fast asleep in my bed when someone came barging in. And as you can guess, he raped me. I cried and cried and I didn't go to school the next day or the next or the next. Finally when I went back to school hayes asked me where I had been. I told him what happened. And can you guess what he did next? He went around the whole school telling everybody that I wasn't a virgin and that I was a slut! I couldn't bear it. I tried to commit suicide 2 times but failed. Over the summer I moved in with my mamaw. Things were a lot better. No more pain, no more crying myself to sleep every night. But, when school started back people still hadn't lived it down that I wasn't a virgin. I tried to tell people it wasn't my fault but NO ONE WOULD LISTEN!!" Maddie says with tears streaming down her face

"Maddie I'm sooooo sorry". I cry with her comforting her and rubbing circles on her back

"It's not your fault". She cried into my shoulder

"Common lets get you to the bathroom and get you cleaned up". I say

We walk to the bathroom and get some stares.

"Don't worry about them". I say to Maddie as she notices people are starring

*in bathroom*

I was running a paper towel under cold water when some snobby girls walk into the bathroom.

"Look girls. The little slut is crying". One of them say

Snickers go throughout the bathroom.

"Back off". I say to snobby girl

"What are you gonna do if I don't". She says getting in my face

"This". I say and punch her right in the nose

Gasps go all around and is hear Maddie snicker behind me.

"Your gonna regret that". She says and jumps towards me and knocks me to the ground I roll over and starting punching her in the face

Two of the snobby girls went and got teachers

"What is going on here". One teacher says pulling me off of the snobby girl

"She started shit and I finished it". I say tucking my shirt back in my shorts

"Young lady don't use that kind of language". A teacher said

I hold my hands up in surrender.

"Both of you to my office now". One teacher said pointing at me and the snobby girl

*in the office*

"Who threw the first punch". Mr Alan ask

"Me". I say raising my hand

"Maddison, i told you that hayes was a bad influence". He says

"Ain't that the truth". I say rolling my eyes

"Natalie I want you to go to the nurse and Maddison you stay right here". He says giving me the death stare

Natalie walks out.

"You have two weeks detention". Mr Alan says

"For sticking up for my friend". I say

"You threw the first punch, you get the punishment". He says shrugging his shoulders

I huff, grab my paper and walk out.

Hayes, Maddie, and Olivia are waiting outside for me.

"Baby what happened". Hayes says grabbing my shoulders

"Don't touch me". I say shaking his hand off

"What did I do". He questions

"Don't play dumb". I say motioning towards Maddie

He gets wide eyes.

"Listen Maddison I was a kid". He says

"I don't care hayes, don't talk to me". I say grabbing Maddie and Olivia.
