Chapter 24

Hayes and I walk out of the room and down the hall.

"Where's everybody at"? I ask

"Still hiding". He laughs

Mrs Grier comes running over.

"Hayes I thought there was a emergency"? She ask/yells

"Uhm there is, uhmmm, I'm..I'm hungry! That's it, mom I'm starving". Hayes says clutching his stomach and making grunting sounds

She looks at him with a evil look.

"Hey, I did you a favor, we don't need any more kids waltzing around this place", hayes says

I try not to laugh

"If your so hungry, why don't you fix yourself something to eat"? She ask with her arms crossed

Just then Nash and Maddie walk out.

"Hayes I thought we were playing hide and seek"? Nash ask

"We had a problem". He snickers

I punch him in the arm.

"Ow". He says and rubs his arm

"You'll be alright". I say and hug him

"Get a room". I hear Maddie say

"Were just hugging, We don't eat each other's face off unlike you and Nash". I laugh

"I wish we would though". Hayes smiles

I punch him in the arm again and laugh

"Girl you could be a professional boxer, you'd whoop my butt". Hayes says

I laugh

"Me and Maddie are about to go swimming, do you all wanna come". Nash ask

"Yeah"! Hayes says

"Uhm I don't really feel up to it". I say and run upstairs

Hayes POV

"Uhm I don't really feel up to it". Maddison says and runs upstairs

We all look at each other confused.

"I'll go talk to her". Maddie says and starts walking towards the stairs

I grabbed her arm to stop her.

"No, I'll go". I say and start walking upstairs

I walk over to my room to see if she's there

*knock knock*

"Who is it". I hear a small voice say

"Hayes". I say

"Come in". She says

I walk in and she's got her face in the pillow. I walk over and start rubbing little circles on her back.

"Maddison". I say

"What"? She ask

"What's wrong". I ask

"Nothing".

"Why won't you go swimming"?

"I just don't feel up to it".

"It's something else, that's not the problem".

She raises up and looks me in the eyes

"Hayes, I'm fat. That's why I don't wanna swim in front of you. I'm ashamed of my body".

It's quite for a second

"Your not fat". I say

"Yes I am"! She yells

"Maddison you are not fat! I don't want to hear that, it's a lie! Your the most beautiful girl I have ever met! I knew you were the one for me when I first laid eyes on you. I remember the first day you got here. You got out of you car, your long black hair was frizzy from your car ride, you had on black leggings and pink jacket that said pink across the front in black. I remember thinking to myself, "she is so beautiful". I was nervous around you Maddison and you know I don't get nervous, but you make me feel some type of way no one has ever made me feel before. When we touch I feel electricity run through me. I wanna be with you for the rest of my life. I love you Maddison". I say in one breath

She's crying

"I love you too hayes". She says and hugs me tighter than anyone has ever hugged me before
