I told you that I loved you,
But you shrugged it off with pride,
I asked you for your reasoning,
And you told me that I lied.
I told you that I loved you,
So you never did your best,
But when you had trouble sleeping,
I would sacrifice my rest.
I told you I wasn't good enough,
And you silently agreed,
Ignoring all my feelings,
And the support that I would need.
I told you that I need you,
When you threw me down to rot,
Still refusing to acknowledge it,
When I'd been through a lot.
Again, I told you that I loved you,
When you ended things for good,
And I refused to let you go,
Even though I knew I should.
You told me that you loved me,
But I had called your bluff,
For when you left me silently,
You told me quite enough.
