The Royal Rhyme

In the land of Rhythm,

There was the Queen of Rhyme,

Who helped the words sound pretty,

While they flowed in perfect time.

She loved their musicality,

Every sentence like a song,

And the people loved her doings,

And so she ruled quite long.

Her people sang so peacefully,

As they went throughout their days,

'Till Forgetfulness came cashing in,

And ruined their rhyming ways.

With the Queen no longer present,

The people couldn't rhyme,

Forgetfulness took over,

And the people's song fell apart.

Rhythm lost consistency,

Its people no longer governed,

And things were looking grim for them,

As their sun fell from the sky.

Soon, the people forgot the peace,

And how pretty Rhyme had sounded,

Forgetfulness took everything they had,

And Rhythm came to an end.

But at last, the Queen of Rhyme would come,

And she'd sing to all her folks,

Her song would lift their drowning souls,

As it swirled throughout the oaks.

The people of Rhythm remembered,

All the things that they had lost,

And soon surveyed the damage,

That Forgetfulness had cost.

The Queen took Rhythm back,

And it once more would fill with Rhyme,

To help them all remember,

Her pretty words in perfect time.
