Pills II

I took a couple pills today,

And I'm sorry that I did.

I hoped to see the world to black,

To vanish off the grid.

I planned on taking plenty more,

To watch my vision fade away,

Hoped that after dozens,

I wouldn't see another day.

But I remembered what you did to me,

When you finally left this planet,

I remember being hit right in the heart,

With hardened granite.

I loved you like my family,

I held you in my heart.

When those pills took you away from me,

They tore me all apart.

We were like kindred spirits,

Never hurting on our own,

And then you overdosed again,

And cut me to the bone.

You might've been the one that died,

But I'm the one that felt it,

And your heart might be the one that stopped,

But mine's the one that melted.
