If I wrote to you
I don't know what I would say-
Dear A,
You crushed me.
No
Dear A,
I hate you
And yet, still no.
All of these things are true
But do not make up the whole.
I wouldn't bother to write to you
You would smile, feel accomplished
That someone cared about you
A game you won, an ego stroke
A reason to keep doing what you're doing
Because someone loved you for it
I couldn't possibly say
Everything I needed to
I'm too disappointed
And you don't care anyway.
You will say
I never intended to hurt you
I had no idea
And you will keep telling me that
Forever
But I know I was just part of the game
I had all my cards on the table
But you were bluffing.
