Prising my lead like eyes open, I'm almost blinded by the bright white light that burns. I force my eyes closed again and groan involuntarily. There's an itching drip in my left hand and my side feels like someone is pulling my skin really hard, while pinching it. Flickering my eyes open, I look to the right to see my Uncle sat in the plastic chair, watching me.
"Uncle?" I whisper.
"Morning. How are you feeling?" He asks.
I look him up and down, he's wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
"Where am I?"
"At the hospital."
"On Earth?"
"Yes, Asgard doesn't really know how to treat shot wounds." Thor points out.
"Why wearing normal." I mutter, realising I missed a few words.
"Pardon?" He questions.
"Don't matter. I'm right." I mumble.
Uncle has a confused expression on his face. I hear beeping behind me and I notice it's synched with my breathing. The drip in my hand sends a yellow liquid into my veins and there's a big bandage on my side.
"Anyone else hurt?" I quiz.
"No. It was just you and the attackers, Steve dealt with them."
"He promised himself he wouldn't pick up a gun again." I say.
"He did, for you."
My eyes beg to close and I give up fighting the sleep.

Sitting on the sofa, I cross my seven year old knees and sit cross legged. I lean back and grab the remote from the table, turning on the Disney channel to the High School Musical film. Singing loudly, I mouth all the words. Suddenly, someone races in and falls onto the sofa beside me.
Grabbing the remote, I giggle loudly as Steve tickles my ribs. I kick and scream against him but he pins me on the sofa and takes the remote from me. Steve sits back down and holds it over his head, where I can't reach it.
"High school musical?" He questions.
"I happen to like this film." I argue, placing my hands on my hips.
"Fine." He grumbles.
But, after a few minutes me and Steve are singing the words at the top of our lungs. When the film is finished, we hear a cough behind us. We both turn around to see all of the Avengers stood, Natasha and Tony filming on their phones.
"It was Hatz, she forced me to watch this. It was torture." Steve lies.
I giggle again as he tries to make the moment less embarrassing for himself. He wraps his arm around my waist and lifts me to sit on his shoulders, Steve then races out of the room with me gently swinging my legs against his chest.

Opening my eyes gradually, I'm met by the shining white again. Looking at the end of the white bed, my father and uncle are stood talking. Loki notices I'm awake and smiles at me.
"How are you feeling?" He asks.
"Numb." I admit.
"You're alive, so that is very good and you have your powers." Loki reminds me.
I smile, feeling the oxygen tube under my nose stretch. I flick each of my fingers and each of my toes, checking I can move each one. No paralysation.
"You're very brave." Uncle says.
"No, I'm not. I didn't see the bullet coming. I'm a fool." I correct him.
