What It Takes to Be Infinite.

Eggman's Fortress

Time was running out before Eggman's Plan was to be executed everyone of the Resistance was trying their best to stop the Phantom Ruby but it seemed Eggman was not giving up so easily.

Even the Masked Jackal himself was slowly starting to show some resistance towards Eggman and the Dr. was getting impatient with Infinite and he felt that it would be close to time to activate the one part of the Ruby he never told the Jackal about. You will not disobey me anymore Infinite! He thought before hitting a button as he had a grin on his face.

Somewhere in the lab Infinite was sitting on his bed his mask on the side table he was looking  at the locket in his right hand before he felt a wave of pain his him hard he gasped a little before moving his free hand to his chest where the ruby was he looked down at it as it was glowing suddenly he cried out a little as the pain got worse. "W-what is-?"he asked lowly before crying out again.

Infinite's ears were now pinned back to his head his eyes closed before he suddenly dropped the locket and both hands were on his chest. I-is this what... L-Liarel was s-scared of? He asked himself

After a while the pain within Infinite calmed down but never stopped, the Jackal groaned a little before he looked at his Mask grabbing it then heading out of the Lab forgetting that he left the Locket on his bed.

Outside of Eggman's Fortress Liarel was standing on a cliff looking at the fortress her arms were over her chest as she was glaring at it. I will end this today, Infinite's and my Torment well end. She said to herself.

Liarel's right ear twitched as she heard something from the communicator Shadra had given her.

"We've got less then an hour before Eggman's Plan goes down." Knuckles said through it.

Liarel moved her right hand to the communicator to listen in.

"There's no more time. We have to break into the fortress now!" Shadow replied

"Indeed, this is it." Silver said he paused a little before continuing. "Our last opportunity to bring peace back into the world."

"But... when the Battle ends, we'll have to part with sonic... I mean this Sonic... won't we?" Tails asked

"Yes, if the Phantom Ruby is gone, I guess he'll be returned to his dimension." Amy replied

Liarel sighed a little shaking her head.

"Thank you for everything Sonic, we'll never forget what you did for us." Tails said in a sad tone.

"Save the sentiments for later, this is not over yet" Espio said

"We all still have a battle to fight." Liarel suddenly said into the communicator.

Silence was heard for a moment before a low growl was heard it was from Shadow and the female Jackal rolled her eyes.

"Exactly, this is our last chance. Give it everything you've got!" Knuckles replied

Liarel looked at the fortress again before she jumped down towards it and went for got there she found the entrance to the lab she growled before storming inside alluring a few robots she took down without incident before she got to a door she looked at it before she walked inside looking around before spotting something on the bed she walked to it and when she did she picked it up looking to the locket carefully before she knew it a memory came over her mind.

~ the young Jackal was wondering around her hometown she kept to herself most of the time she wear a long hooded black cloak covering her face a little she wasn't the most liked person in the town and she never knew why.
