"Wow, that was harsh..."Plagg rasped with pitying eyes. I turned away from him on my bed, where I had been laying since I arrived from Patrol. "That's why the only thing I ever fall in love with is cheese!" He smiled hungrily as he admired his slice of Camembert. "Shut up Plagg..." I groaned. "There is no us..." My heart cringed when I remembered her words. "Damn it!" I hissed as I covered my face with a pillow. After an un-countable amount of time I sat up wearily. "Hurry and finish up Plagg, we're going out" Plagg frowned. "Right now? But it's almost midnight!" He protested as he swallowed the last of his cheese. "Plagg claws out!"

The temperature had dropped a few degrees since patrol. I could feel the cold air chafe my nose as I bounded over rooftops. Eventually, I landed on the familiar terrace. "I wonder...if she's awake?" I asked myself. After a few seconds, I hesitantly tapped on her trap door. Silence followed. After a few seconds, I sighed sadly as I extended my baton and prepared myself for the journey home. A faint creaking noise stopped me in my tracks. "Cat Noir?" Her surprised voice filled my heart with relief.

"Bonsoir Purrincess, I'm sorry for dropping by this late. Did I wake you?" I asked, a pang of guilt bubbling inside my chest. She shook her head softly. "No, I was actually having trouble sleeping..." she trailed of as a shiver racked her small frame. "I'm gonna get my coat, give me a sec..." she said as she disappeared down the stairs. Thankfully my suit kept me warm enough. I walked over and perched myself on the railing, just as she stepped outside.

"I'm sorry for the intrusion" I apologized again. "I just...don't really have many people I can talk to..." I trailed off sadly when I remembered my DJ friend. Sure he was a great guy, but how was I going to talk to him about Ladybug problems? She looked at me sadly as she exhaled. Her breath turned to mist in front of her. Ever since that night when I fought Glaciator, I've felt a sense of familiarity with Marinette. We've both gotten our hearts broken and she knows I really love Ladybug. Even though we don't socialize much outside of school, we're actually quite similar.

Marinette glanced over the railing at the street below. Her face was pensive and her cheeks and nose were pink from the cold. "I know what you mean. I have Alya, but there are still somethings I can't talk to her about..." she trailed off. I nodded. "I don't understand Ladybug. She said something about suspecting my identity and then we have this moment and then suddenly, she changes her mind and says there's nothing between us!" I fumed a bit louder than I should've.

Marinette tensed at my unexpected outburst. "S-sorry, I didn't mean to startle you I just..." I trailed off, anger coursing through me. Tears pricked the corners of my eyes when I remembered. "I feel like she's taking me for granted, like I'm nothing more than an accessory to her..." she shook her head sternly. "That's not true. You and Ladybug are a team" I jumped off the railing exasperated. "Nobody else seems to think so, I'm just a hindrance to--" "That's not true!" She interrupted. "Stop being stupid Cat!"

My eyes opened wide. Her eyebrows were furrowed making small lines appear above her nose. Her fists were clenched and she seemed to be shaking. "Ladybug cares about you...she would be nothing without you..." she trailed off avoiding my gaze. I scoffed. "Yea? Then why does she insist on playing with me? On leading me on?!" I growled, angrier than before. "That's not true! She isn't playing with you!" I rolled my eyes as I extended my baton. "Obviously you're on her side..." I hissed angrily, I was about to jump off the terrace, when a soft fluttering sound made me turn my head. "Cat look out!!" Marinette shouted just as a tainted butterfly made its way towards me...
