The color drained from my face when I pulled away and laid eyes on him. "A-Adrien!?" I exclaimed as I staggered backwards. I tripped over my heel and lost my balance. "Woah!" He said as he wrapped his arm around my waist to keep me from falling. "Are you okay Purrincess?" He asked softly as our noses touched. My heart drummed furiously in my chest as the reality of the situation settled in. "You really are a walking disaster area aren't you?" He chuckled as he set me back on my feet. "I was right, it was you. It's always been you..." I whispered as I pulled away.
"Are you disappointed?" He asked cautiously. "N-no its just...you act so differently as Cat that it's hard to tell you're the same person..." he nodded pensively. "Honestly, I love saving Paris with you. My costume gives me the opportunity to act however I want, without repercussions. I don't have to be Mr. Perfect teen supermodel, son of Gabriel Agreste. I can just be me..." I nodded.
"You know I always wondered how you do it all. The classes, the phot-shoots. You're endurance is incredible..." I trailed off as I glanced at my shoes. "You know, the reason I've been able to survive this long is you?" My face flared when he said that. "Seeing Ladybug everyday, meeting up at night for patrol...that's what kept me going. I've been so lonely since mom disappeared, but when I met you everything changed. As Ladybug you gave me hope, as Marinette you'd brighten my days.
You may think you're not much but you're wrong. You're quite the catch Marinette, I can't imagine Ladybug being anyone else..." he took my hand in his and kissed it in a very Cat-like fashion. "Marinette, M'lady....I love you..." tears pricked the corners of my eyes. I'd been waiting so long to hear Adrien say those words and now here he was, my crush, my best friend and partner telling me that he loved me. I tossed my arms around his neck and kissed him longingly. With all the pent up longing I'd been harboring for almost two years. He kissed me back eagerly, almost desperately. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I pulled away and rested my forehead against his. "I love you too Kitty."
