I've dreaded going back to the mansion for countless of times. Whenever I enter the mansion, I end up with bruises and injuries. However, never have I entered with someone else with me. Colby insisted on sending me home and he adamantly insisted on personally sending me to my room when I told him to bring me back to the party.

Now, he was parked in front of the mansion and was gawking at it. If it weren't for the nervousness and the dreading feeling in my stomach, I would have laughed at his face. I could see my parents' limousine parked in the driveway and I knew that they were furious about my sudden disappearance from my own party. This was the first time I actually left the party and I know how important that was for them, so I absolutely have no idea on what I will end up with.

"Colby," I said with a shaky tone. "I will enter first, you stay outside until I call you in. I need to check if they are waiting for me inside." I took a shaky breath and looked into his mesmerizing blue eyes, hoping that it would help me calm down. It didn't. "If you hear or see something from inside that is not me telling you to come in, leave." He opened his mouth to protest but I sent him a look that stopped him from doing so. "I don't want you to see what they do to me, Colby. I already told you how bad they could get and I don't want you to see how they treat me... Please.."

His eyes softened and he nodded hesitantly. I sighed in relief as he got out of the car. I pulled the seatbelt off and was about to reach for the door when it opened. I gave Colby a small smile before getting out of the car with his help. He closed and locked the car behind us and we walked side-by-side in silence as we approached the front doors.

As soon as I saw a piece of dyed brunette hair through the window, I instantly pulled Colby to a shaded place.

"What?"

"They're inside." I looked into his eyes once again and smiled sadly. "You should ju–"

"I'm not leaving, France." He said determinedly.

"Colby!" I whisper-scolded. The truth was, I was scared. I didn't know what they will do to me or how worse it would be and I was scared of the pain. I was scared that what he will see will push him away from me. I was scared that he will leave me alone to deal with the pain. "Don't do this, please. Just go! I don't want you to see..." I was crying.

He pulled out a pack of wet wipes, one that we used to clean up my messed up face from the messy makeup, and wiped away my tears and the remaining makeup from my face. "I am not leaving, France." Ha said once again, but the time, his words held more meaning than the other. "I'll do as you say and stay hidden but I want to make sure you're okay after." Through his words, I knew that he knows what could be waiting for me behind those doors but, through his eyes, I saw how helpless he looked at the thought... But he promised.

He promised me not to get himself in trouble.

I bit my lip before slowly nodding, still a bit hesitant of his decision. Seeing the hesitation in my actions, he dove into a bush, hiding himself in the shadows, away from the scattered security cameras around the mansion. I took one last look at his direction before making my way to the front doors.

The doors slammed open before I reached for the knob. I stared at my parents in shock and fright. Their faces were turning red from their anger and their eyes held a burning hatred for me.

I regret letting Colby stay.

An hour of beating and harsh words later, I laid on the floor, struggling to even breathe. My father took the matter into his hands and used his fists to knock the living daylights out of my chest despite my attempt to curl up and protect my front from receiving his full force. His hands were heavy from his fury while my mother's heels were sharpened like knives. She used her heels as weapons to cut on every untouched skin left on me. Some of the cuts even went deep as to draw blood continuously, some still not stopping.

Maybe this was it.

Maybe it was wrong of me to take my chances and have Colby Brock as a friend, the very first person I trusted enough to tell my story.

Maybe it was wrong of me to tell my story to someone who wasn't involved with my problems.

Maybe I was never meant to have a friend.

Maybe I was never meant to meet Colby and the gang.

So many maybes, but there was one thing I was sure of.

Colby has seen my story for himself. It was just a matter of time before he chooses among the only two options available. Turn away, leave, never speak about my story to anyone, and cut ties with me to avoid danger, or... stay.

A part of me want him to leave and forget everything he saw and heard, but I also wanted him to stay.

Is that too selfish of me to want someone to stay? The thought floated around my mind as I drifted out of consciousness.
