As an adventurous person, I have explored, along with some friends, a countless number of abandoned and haunted places. I have experienced and witnessed countless numbers of terrifying things that are very difficult to explain.

But what I saw that night, was the worst thing someone could ever witness.

That night, I saw a helpless girl get beaten to the brink of her death by her own parents and I couldn't do anything except watch with my phone in my hand.

As soon as France's father landed a punch on her stomach, I pulled my phone out and dialed the number of the person who knows about France's situation, Officer Logan.

"It's 1 am, what do you want?" Officer Logan didn't bother being polite when he answered my call.

"I'm with Francine." I whispered to my phone, trying to be as quiet as possible. I know for a fact that he was wide awake as soon as I mentioned France. "She's inside their house and her parents are beating her up.. I–I don't know what to do!"

"Calm down, kid." He said. "You're a youtuber, right?"

My eyebrows furrowed at the question. "What? Yeah. But what has that got to do with helping France?!"

"I told you to calm down! If you barge in there right now out of rage, they're going to destroy your life just to keep their secret. She's not going to want that for you." Realizing the truth in his words, I took deep breaths to calm myself down and turned away from the gruesome scene inside the house. "Use your phone, or a camera if you have one right now, and get that on video."

"Why?"

"That's some solid evidence right in front of you, kid. We will finally have a proof and enough witness to get her out of that hell hole." He explained. "Also, if you can, look for a white hard drive in her room and take it to the station. That's going to help. It's on the second floor."

"What's in the drive?"

"Her story."

When the call ended with a few more instructions from Officer Logan, I did as I was told and recorded everything, making sure that the quality was good and their faces were clear.

It took them an hour before they decided to leave Francine on the ground. They got in a car and sped away to who knows where. Lucky. I had ended the recording and I snuck into the mansion, only to see her unconscious and barely breathing.

"France?" I knelt down beside her and shook her gently, hoping to wake her up. When she didn't respond, I knew I had to take her to the hospital. Carefully, I lifted her up and carried her to the car. I struggled to open the door to the back seat but somehow, I managed and carefully laid her down.

Before I could slide in the driver's seat, Officer Logan's voice echoed in my head, reminding me of the hard drive that he wanted me to take. I ran back inside and up the staircase and saw quite a number of doors. By the fourth door I opened, I realized how different the room looked like from the other previous ones I had opened. On the white carpet, there were a few blotches of blood and the room was filled with things that a girl of France's age would use.

This was her room.

I rushed to the drawers and searched for the hard drive. I went through her drawers, her closet, and her desk but the hard drive was nowhere to be found.

"Where is it?" I muttered to myself as I looked around for any place she could hide the drive. My eyes landed on her bed, or underneath it, and noticed a small box hiding. I pulled it out, opened it, and revealed some journals, items, and a white hard drive inside.

Bingo.

Instead of taking just the hard drive, I took the small box with me and snuck out to the car. It's a wonder how I was not caught while lurking around when I spotted a few guards walking around the place.

I shook the thought away and drove as fast as I can to a hospital near the station, which was far from their mansion. When I arrived, I rushed to get someone to help me take her to the emergency room. Thankfully, there was a nurse who was free at the moment. I took her to the car and she looked horrified upon noticing Francine's state. There was also a flash of recognition in her eyes before we carefully took her to the emergency room.

When the other nurses and doctors stopped me from going further in, I sat by the waiting area, informing Sam, Officer Logan, and the others of my whereabouts.

I just pray that she's okay.

Hey! Sorry if the chapter is short. I'm not really sure how emergencies like France's case work xD but I'll try my best on the next chapters 🙃🙃 sorry :3
