"Sometimes, good people make bad choices. It does not mean that they are bad, it simply means that they are human." -Unknown

She was beautiful girl.

With her back hunched down, she stood slightly shorter than me. Her head was slightly lowered, causing her raven hair to cover up the sides of her face. Yet, from my perspective, she had a heart shaped face, a gorgeous pair of chocolate brown eyes that avoided my gaze, a sharp nose that would make other people jealous, and plump pink lips that trembled.

Looking at her now, the more she looked so different from when we were showed a picture of her yesterday. She looked nothing like me and she was gorgeous in her own way, but her beautiful features were hidden behind that mask of fear that she had as she stood in front of me.

Kenneth, Julianne, and Levin came with me to visit Hazel and her mother, as per my wish yesterday. Colby and the others wanted to come with us but I did my best to kindly reject their offer saying that Hazel might get overwhelmed if I brought too many people. That was one reason but the truth was, I was embarrassed of my bold actions yesterday with Colby.

When I sat on the couch beside him, I found his warmth so comforting that I unconsciously curled up against him. I realized what I had done when his arm was on me but I chose to enjoy the comfort he offered me while we focused on Kenneth and Julianne's explanation. I noticed how Levin was glaring at Colby so when the discussion was over, I had to pull him to the side and tell him that he shouldn't get mad at Colby since it was my choice to do what I did. It took a while but he accepted that I liked Colby.

He still wanted to test him though.

"I'm not mad." I told her softly. A small smile laid on my lips, trying to ease her fear.

Tears pooled her eyes before she lowered her head even more. "I'm really sorry, Miss Lockhart!" She cried. "I just-"

"France." I cut her off. "Just call me France, that's what my friends call me."

Her head shot up in surprise and she stared at me with her tear-filled wide eyes. "But-"

"You did what you had to do, Hazel, but that's in the past now. Now, I'm grateful when you told us that you wanted to help us... to help me." To her surprise, I pulled her in for a hug as tears started stinging my eyes. She stood there, frozen while I hugged her. I didn't want her to carry this guilt in her life and I wanted her to know how I felt for her.

When she got over her shock, she, slowly but surely, wrapped her arms around me and cried. I could feel her body tremble as she clutched onto my clothes.

She had to help her mother as well as handle this situation alone. Hazel must have felt on the edge after a wrong decision, especially when she did not have anyone to confide in.

"Thank you!" She cried onto my shoulder. It was muffled since she buried her head on my shoulder but I heard it nonetheless.

Kenneth walked over to us and patted both our heads like a father would. I could tell that Hazel needed all this talk and hug as her cries were not that of fear and guilt. No, those were before before. Now, she cried on my shoulder in relief.
