Third Person POV15 Years Ago (Twins: 5 years old)
Cassidy sat by a twin sized bed where two small figures curled up against each other with lazy smiles on their lips. The room was dark and the only light that illuminated the room was the moonlight that shines through an open window. Looking around the room, Cassidy smiled at the memory of watching her lovely children cleaning after their games in order to simply lessen her work load in the house.
Cassidy was once called a genius beside her husband during their college years. She and her husband were excellent students with above average intelligence, specially on their specialization, technologies. They were sought after by different tech companies in hopes to get them to help their companies to develop further. They worked with different big companies for a few years until the they got married and decided to create their own company.
JC Technologies.
They were still a small company in their starting stage so their income was still unstable. Yet, Cassidy and John did not mind as they have been able to save enough money to buy a simple two-story house and provide for their children with their needs. When Cassidy gave birth to Levin and Francine, John had forced her to stop for a while in order to regain her strength and look after their children. Now 5 years later, Cassidy was itching to work once more. She loved the thrill of creating new technologies and solving different problems on their programs and hardwares.
Most of all, she missed being in the limelight. She loved hearing compliments from others about her achievements. The amount of compliments she receives simply proves that those who tried to discourage her in her career and in her different choices in life were wrong, especially her own family. It hurt her when she realized that her own family didn't support her through her decisions and her hobbies and she wanted to prove them wrong. The one who did support her was John, that's why she loves her husband.
Staring at her children, she dreamed of having her own family stand under the limelight and show her family that she was successful, contrast to what they believed her future to be. To do that, everything had to be perfect.

14 Years Ago (Twins: 6 Years old)
The twins cheerfully jumped down the car as soon as the car stopped. A chuckle was heard on from the man sitting on the driver's seat as he watched the twins rush to the front door, each holding a piece of paper, which they are excited to show off to their mother. John parked the car and followed after his twins and found them pulling their mother into the living room.
Slightly chuckling at her children's antics, she followed them into the living room and sat down the couch as per the twins instructions. As soon as she sat, the twins grinned and proudly showed her the papers that they held.
"Tada!" Cassidy noticed what were written on the paper and smiled. Both were holding their own drawing of their family but Levin, her precious brilliant boy, had a better drawing than his sister. The details were much better and the colors merged together beautifully, giving off the feeling of a warm and happy family. Francine's drawing was good, even much better that average 6 year old kids, but it still lost to her talented brother's drawing.
"Levin! This looks wonderful!" Cassidy blurted out as she admired her son's art, purposely ignoring Francine's drawing. The child's smile dropped for a short second but it was back in no time like it never happened. John noticed her behavior but did not comment on it for he, too, liked Levin's art much better than her's and he deserved the praise and attention.

12 Years Ago (Twins: 8 Years old)
In two years, JC Technologies bloomed. They were a fast growing company and the Lockhart family were admired by everyone. John and Cassidy were seen as the power couple as both were called geniuses of their generation for being able to handle and make their company successful. Levin Lockhart was admired by everyone not only for his adorable looks, which he got from his parents, but also for his achievements at such a young age. He was the '8-year-old genius of technologies,' following after the steps of his parents and with his name comes the name of his twin, Francine Lockhart, the mature beauty of the family at the age of 8. She was a genius like her brother but with their parents' constant mention of his name, she was being overshadowed.
But she didn't mind as long as she had her family who loved her for who she was. She loves her brother more than her achievements and the reason why she does her best in everything was to make her parents proud of her like how they were so proud of Levin that they were showing him off to the whole world. However, despite being 8 years old, she understood the harsh reality that her parents were hungry for the attention of the world and they were using Levin for that.
"The perfect family" did not include her in the picture because she was not recognized enough.
Her mind became more mature than her age as she silently observed her family in the shadows of her brother. When night comes and their parents fall asleep, Levin would always sneak in her room and cry. He hated how everyone's attention was on him. He hated how he was forced to smile and keep his head high no matter what he felt. He hated how he was forced to do his best in everything he does. He hated how he needs to be the "perfect" child for their parents.
He hated his parents.
Francine would always tell him, "you can always be yourself when you're with me. You don't have to act the way they tell you to because it's just you and me, Vin... Just you and me." She gave him a necklace which feels like it represented the sad reality of their life. Levin was a full moon, yet what the people see are just a small part of him, a crescent moon, and she was the only one who sees everything underneath his forced smiles in pictures. She was the only one who could see the beauty of the full moon.
Because of that, she supported him in everything he did, not minding how she had her own burdens to carry. She was willing to listen to him as long as he can keep on smiling. That was her one and only goal.
In another two years, Levin was not able to keep up with their parents' desires and broke under pressure. He screamed at their parents before dashing out their new house, a big mansion with numerous empty unoccupied rooms. Minutes turned to hours, hours turned to days, days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months, and months turned to years, yet Levin was nowhere to be found. Because of this, her parents had to declare that he was kidnapped and killed in order to not soil their name. They were already at the top and this would make their reputation go down. They would not accept that, not after they worked hard for all those years.
They did not accept that their child ran away because of them and disowned him in their hearts and minds. They only have one child who would uphold their family name and they would not allow the same thing to happen again.
John and Cassidy decided right then that they were done playing games.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's sad that there are a lot of people who gets swallowed by their greed for fame and money and would do anything just to be on the top of the social ladder. Sadly, that's what happened to the family. Money and power consumed John and Cassidy, damaging Levin and Francine mentally and physically.
"Money and fame are trashy and don't guarantee happiness, but we all refuse really to know it." - Stephen Fry
