Rome
"Yo, who is this?" Teddy asked, looking on at the message that had been sent to my phone. Currently, I was sitting in Teddy's basement with him and Kev, trying to get to the bottom of the message that I had received.
"I don't know." I shrugged while he shook his head in disbelief. "It's just not making sense to me though. I don't know what it's supposed to mean."
"Somebody knows something." Kev spoke, looking to be in a deep thought. "I don't know who but somebody does."
"The only other person who knows is Candace and she wouldn't say anything to anybody." I said adamantly before checking my watch. "Did Tron say that he was coming?"
"Yeah, he said that he was on the way not too long ago..." Teddy replied, recalling the text that he had received from Tron. I still wasn't a huge fan of Tron but since he's more tech savvy than the rest of us, he could be beneficial in this situation.
"Have you shown Candace the message?" Kev curiously asked.
"No. I'm not trying to include her in any of this. It's already a sensitive topic for her." I sighed to myself. As much as I hate keeping things from Candace, I know that the topic of her uncle will only bring back bad memories. I'd rather see her happy while planning this ceremony.
"You must love keeping stuff from her." I heard the voice of Tron, standing in the doorway. "What did y'all call me for?"
"Before we begin, I just want to say that I need for you and Rome to put whatever hatred you have for each other to the side right now. This is some serious business." Teddy said seriously, looking between the two of us.
"What's going on?" Tron asked, taking a seat in one of the chairs.
"Show him the message." Teddy motioned for me to do. Pulling out my phone again, I went into the message thread to show Tron the text messages that I had received from the unknown number. Looking at the messages, Tron furrowed his eyebrows before looking back up at us.
"Who is this?" Tron questioned, handing me back my phone.
"We don't know." Teddy responded.
"Which is why we called you." I added.
"What? You think I sent this?" Tron asked defensively.
"No, but we figured that you could help us figure out who did." Kev said to him. "You still be doing that crazy shit on the computer."
"I haven't messed with that stuff since college..." Tron replied, rubbing the back of his head. "I don't know..."
"Well could you at least try?" Teddy asked him. I knew that out of all of us, Teddy was worried the most. He would have many more repercussions especially since he's the one who pulled the trigger.
"I can try." Tron said, taking off his book bag and pulling out his MacBook. "What's the number?"
"850-555-3176" I read off from my phone. "What are you going to do with it?"
"First, I'm gonna call it using a mock number, just to see if it's one of those texting apps or not. If it is, I'm gonna send a bug to their phone. Basically the bug is a link which will have to be very convincing if we want them to click it. Once they click the link, data will be sent to my device and I'll have access to their location and will be able to track all of their whereabouts in real time." Tron explained to us as my phone began to ring in my pocket.
