I get in my truck leaving Brook standing there confused but after a while she waves and walks off. I drive out of the school and silently curse myself.
'She clearly just said there won't be a us Blake.' I think to myself as I stare out at the road. I knew falling for her would be a bad idea since she will never have an interest in me. Shane and Jessa keep telling me to give her time but how much more time does she need?
I turn onto my street and my lips twitch into a smile when I hear one of her favorite songs come on the radio.
I hum quietly to Southern Girl by Tim McGraw.
As I listen to the lyrics, I smile and continue to think about Brook.
As long as I continue to think postitive, I'll give her all the time she needs.
I pull up in my driveway a few seconds later and get out.
"Anybody home?" I announce once I walk through the door.
"What's up big bro?" My younger sister announces walking out of the living room.
I guess she just got home a few minutes earlier since her dark brown hair is still in a ponytail, "Nothing. Don't you have homework that you should be working on?"
Savannah rolls her eyes, "I could ask you the same question."
I chuckle, "Where's mom and dad?"
She shrugs her shoulders before continuing to text on her phone.
I shake my head at her before walking into the kitchen to grab something to drink.
Once I successfully made a glass of sweet tea, I go out to the garage to continue to fix Uncle Rogers four wheeler.
I've already greased it so I go underneath it and grab a pair of pliers and try to unclog the radiator.
I don't get very far since my phone vibrates in my back pocket.
"Hello?"I answer pulling it out of my pocket.
"Hey dude. Whatcha up to?" I hear Shane ask.
"Trying to unclog the radiator. What's up?"
"Jessa's going on that date tonight and Brook's helping her get ready or some shit and I'm bored." Shane tells me.
"So basically I'm last your resort?" I ask with a chuckle.
"Pretty much." Shane says truthfully.
"Gee thanks bro." I chuckle before getting out from underneath the four wheeler, "Yeah come over if you wanted, the rents aren't here."
"Alright. See ya in a few dude." Shane says hanging up.
I shake my head before placing my phone in my back pocket and go back underneath the four wheeler to continue what I was doing.
About twenty minutes later the sound of a horn honks and I turn my head noticing Shane getting out of his truck.
"Did you finish it?" Shane asks eyeing the camo four wheeler.
"Yes sir. Unclogged radiator and greased." I say with a small smirk.
"How much is your uncle paying you for it?" Shane says sitting down on it.
"Thirty." I say.
"Just thirty?" Shane asks looking up at me.
"At least it's something."
"I guess that's true." Shane says with a shrug.
I nod before looking down at Shane who looks up at me with a smirk.
