"Did you ever get your dress for the wedding this weekend?" I ask Jes as we walk to her locker before lunch.
"No, I haven't had the chance. Come with me tonight to fine one?" She looks at me when we reach her locker.
"Of course." I say with a nod.
I look past Jes and see Shane and Blake walking towards us, "Lover boy is coming towards you."
She looks as me as if I've gained two heads and smacks me on the arm with a blush.
I just laugh at her embarrassment before waving at Shane and grabbing my boyfriend's hand so we can go to the cafeteria.
"Why'd you do that for?" Blake asks me, intertwining our fingers.
I simply shrug, "I can't just want to spend some time with my boyfriend?"
He stops us in the middle of the hallway and wraps his arms around my waist, "Of course you can."
I giggle and lean up, pecking his lips before walking into the cafeteria.
Once we reach our table, Blake looks at me, "What do you want, babe?"
"Surprise me." I say back.
He winks at me and walks away with Shane trailing behind him.
"That was awkward in a way." Jes says sitting across from me.
"What do you mean?" I give her a confused look.
"He kind of asked me out on a date." She says sheepishly.
"Kind of?"
"He said it didn't have to be a date if I didn't want it to be."
"Well, do you?" I ask placing a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
"Well,-" She doesn't get anything else out since Shane sits down beside her and Blake places a tray of food in front of me.
I look down and see a slice of pepperoni pizza with a bag of potato chips along with a cherry coke.
I smile at Blake and he intertwines our hands under the table. I take a bite of my pizza and it actually tastes good.
"Where's the wedding at again, Blake?" Jes asks starting a conversation.
"Outside of her house in Knoxville, Tennessee."
Jes' eyes practically go wide, "That far?"
Blake nods his head, "Yeah, we're all leaving friday night. Is that okay with y'all?"
We all nod and Blake smiles.
I look at Jes and give her a sympathetic smile, she smiles back and I give her 'talk later' look and she nods.
Lunch ends soon after that and we all get up, heading to our fifth periods.
--------
Once the final bell of the day rings, I meet Jes at her locker and we walk out to her car.
"Shot gun." I tell Shane since he rode with Jes to school today.
He sticks his tongue out at me but hops in the back anyway. I smirk at him and get in the passengers while Jes gets in the drivers.
"So are you coming with us to the avenue?" I ask turning around to look at Shane.
"Yes I am." He says with a nod.
I nod back and turn around in my seat looking out as Jes drives by a few buildings.
We pull up outside of the avenue a few minutes later and get out, walking around.
