I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face.
Ever since Brook apologized to me last night, I haven't been able to stop smiling and thinking that maybe I do have a chance with her.
Even if it means be friends with her for awhile and eventually growing into something, that'll work too.
I get out of bed and rub a hand through my short messy hair and walk over to my closet grabbing a old t-shirt and a pair of faded blue jeans.
I quickly throw them on and grab my hat and place it on my head. I walk downstairs and notice that everyone is gone. They must have went to church I think to myself before grabbing a bowl and pouring cereal and milk in it.
I munch on it happily for a minute before my phone buzzes in my back pocket.
I pull it out and answer it, "Hello?" I answer with a mouthful of cereal.
"Blake, didn't your mom teach you manners?" I hear her voice ask on the other line.
I quickly swallow my food before answering her, "Yeah she did, but I'm a guy."
"That is not a excuse." Brook says with a small laugh.
"I think it is, sweetheart." I say with a smirk.
I imagine her rolling her eyes before she speaks, "Anyway, I called you for a reason."
"Really? Oh my god. What?" I say mimicking a common teen girl.
"Don't even start with me Blake Emerson." She says in a stern voice.
I just laugh and she continues, "I need a favor."
"Yes, your hinece?"
"God, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something?" She jokes with a laugh.
"Nope, just in a really good mood." I say with a smile.
"Good then you'll say yes."
"Depends. Whatcha need?"
"Can we use your truck to ride back roads today?"
"Who is we?" I ask.
"Me and Jessa. And you and Shane if y'all want."
"I reckon. I'll pick all of y'all in a hour."
"Ookie. Thanks Blakie."
"Your welcome Brookie." I hang up before she can get mad at me.
Get ready, we're going dirt road driving. I'll be over in a hour. and get your ATV ready. I text to Shane.
He texts me back a few seconds later, Ok.
I shake my head at his one word answer before putting my phone back in my pocket. I slip on my boots and grab my keys.
Once I reach my truck, I get in and start it up.
I make my way over to Shanes first since knowing Brook and Jessa, they're probably still getting ready.
I mean, I don't know what for, we're just riding dirt roads. And maybe eating out there when we find a good spot.
I reach Shanes house twenty minutes later and he walks out of his house texting somebody and climbs in the passenger seat.
Once he's in the truck, I smirk. "Texting, Jessa?"
He looks over at me and blushes, "How'd you know?"
"I could see your blush from here," My smirk grows as he blushes, "What were y'all talking about?"
