Twenty-four: Remeber me?

"Forever?"

I look into his eyes. We were so close, I could feel his hot breath on my face. I was about to say something but he interrupts me
"Why do you like me so much?" He asks me
"Because your my best friend" I chuckle shaking my head
"What?" He asks shocked
"Don't you remember, we were best friends since 2nd grade until when you went to American Idol. You never came back to me" I furrow my eyebrows
"I've never met you before this, Riley" he shakes his head
"I compelled you didn't I. To forget Daniel" I say as tears start to form
"I lost you" I say breathlessly
He looks at me like I've just told him I'm dying.
"What?!"
"I didn't want you to feel guilty so I compelled you to forget all about me. It was when I first turned" I said between sobs
"But then I couldn't handle the pain that you put me through so I turned my humanity off, Blue eye. I turned it off"
He frowned at me like a lost puppy
"I remember when we were little, I called you blue eye and I never stopped calling you that. I-"
"I want to remember" he interrupts  me
"Really? Because you had a better life without me. But if you do, promise me you won't think of me any other way than what you do know" I look into his eyes
"I promise" he stands up
"But I have one question for you, how do you like me?" I look down
He hold my shoulders as he whispers to me
" I like you as a friend" I hold back tears and smile.
"Good because all these memories might change that but you need to keep it as friends even if I don't agree. Let's do this" he looks at me with a puzzled expression
I look into his eyes and speak to him slowly
"You will remember all those times as a kid. Remember Riley Leoffler, your best friend as a kid. She's changed but you remember who she was" I step back and bite my lip
All the memories rush though his head as they do mine.
(Bold means it's a flashback)
"You can't catch me, Danny!" 8 year old me sticks my tongue out
9 year old Daniel starts to run at me giggling. I start to run but he catches up to me tackling me to the ground.
"Do you promise to stay best friends foreva?" I ask him
"Forever? I promise
He looks at me as he remembers all the moments we had. He was my first kiss. When we were 15, he was leaving for American idol and he kissed me goodbye.
"I'll see you when I come back!" He kisses me
I inhale out of shock but then laugh messing up his hair.
"Promise you'll come back to me friend?" I laugh
"Promise" But I bite my lip and look into his eyes.
"You don't remember me or what fun times we had. You don't remember how you loved me or how you said you loved me. You were not my first love and I was not yours. You don't know who I am"
Tears start to come to his eyes as he pulls me into a hug.
"Was this who you were before all this shit happened to you?"
"Yeah and I told you to forget it" I knew he felt different about me now because of all the memories we shared.
My dad and Mom has just gotten a divorce and my mom and I just moved to L.A. This is when I killed her.  I put out all my anger on her and sucked all life out of her. Then, when I went to school I saw Daniel and the other band mates. I tried to steer clear of them because I knew it would hurt me to see him. But he found me, he came into my life again.
