"Next stop New Jersey!" The bus driver shouts
Zach turns on the TV and breaking news comes on
"Over 395 bodies were found in Portland Park yesterday. They call themselves the Burning Burgular which was written on a tree with red spray paint. Who knowns where they'll hit next. Keep your children in sight, and be safe...Off to you Christine with the weather." The reporter nods
"You called yourself the Burning Burgular?! Are you crazy!" Jack hollars as Jonah turns off the tv
"I don't know! I just had so much blood I wasn't thinking straight!"
"You bet you weren't. Your trapped in a vervain cage." Pedro laughs from behind me
"Oh shut it Pedro." I snap
"Pedro's here?" Jack looks around
"Sadly" I pout
"Hi Pedro, make sure you let her suffer." Zach looks at me harshly
"Will do" Pedro smiles as he steps into the cage
"Are you guys gonna be mad at me forever?" I start to slowly back away
"You killed hundreds of people including your family and Pedro so pretty much." Corbyn crosses his arms
"I thought you were the nice one!" I cry
"That's me" Daniel pokes his head out
"But I'm a vampire! What are ya gonna make me do? Starve!"
I scream as I hit the vervain bars that immediately start to burn. Pedro holds me up against the bars until I cry.
"I thought people with their switch off aren't supposed to cry" Pedro teases
"I DONT HAVE MY SWITCH OFF!" I start to sob as it goes deeper into my skin
He lets go
"What?"
"I turned it off yesterday so I could feel the pain that I caused. So you could kill me."
I look up
"You have your switch on?" Jonah runs up
"Yeah" I look down
He rips my daylight ring off and throws it out the window
"Maybe you'll think about killing next time." He walks away
When we stop at a gas station, and they leave, I take this chance to cry.
"Riley?" Daniel walks into the bus
"Oh hey." I wipe my tears
"I want you to know that I don't hate you." He kneels down in front of the cage and sticks his hand through. I grab it and smile at the man who I've got to admit, I like.
