I finally make my way into the room, looking a little flushed. I take my seat at the back and hold my head. When will this headache go away? Haruki taps me in the shoulder. Are you ok? He mouths. I nod my head, and get to work.
. . .
P.E. rolls around, and we're jogging today. I run side by side with Mai, talking about our volunteer work at the shelter. "The new arrivals are just adorable! Wouldn't you agree, Sora?" She asks. " You know how I feel about that. I love animals." I say. All of the sudden, my vision starts to blur, and Mai's voice fades into the distance. I look around frantically, but can't see anything. Then, the world tips, and I hit the ground with a hard smack. "Sora!!" Mai screams, getting the attention of everyone, including the coaches and boys. "Make some room, make some room!" The coach blows the whistle. Haruki runs through the crowd and sits next to me, grabbing my hand and giving it a squeeze. "Hang in there." He says, worry in his dark green eyes. Then the world goes black.
