"Dad." I say, stepping in the doorway. "What is it, Sora?" My dad asks, not looking up from his laptop. "You have no purpose for speaking to Haruki like that." I say, crossing my arms across my chest. "And why ever not?" He sounds bored, barely paying me any mind. "Dad! Look at me! I'm right here in front of you, look at me." I say, raising my voice. He arches an eyebrow and looks me in the eye, standing up out of his desk.

I gulp as he walks closer but stand my ground. "Mind telling me now?" He asks, peering down at me. "Haruki-" "Mr. Arigatchi has overstayed his visit." My dad says, voice going cold. "What caused this, Dad?" I look pleadingly into his eyes. "It's better for you." "What do you mean?" My dad sighs, and looks away from me. "He's making you comfortable. You need to face facts that you're dying Sora. You don't have the luxuries that he does. There's no point in you dating him when you'll die and leave him anyway." I stand there for a bit, head lowered. I back away slowly, and out of the door. I hear my dad sigh, but I don't care. I run to my room and grab a suitcase. In goes the necessities. I change into a jacket and jeans with tennis shoes, and walk out the door.

Rain. Of course it'd start raining. I'm dripping wet on the sidewalk, having walked quite far from my house. "Haruki? Hey." I say into the phone. "What's up?" He asks. "What's that sound? Is that rain?" "Uh yeah. It's raining. Could I ask you a favor?" I reply, ducking under a roof to stay dry. "Sora where are you?" Concern sneaks its way into his voice. "Don't worry about me! Just... Could you pick me up outside of Pop's Cafe?" "Of course. Be there soon." He hangs up, and I sit on a bench. Not too long later, I see his gray car pull up. "Sora you're dripping wet! How long have you been out here? Is that a suitcase? What's going on?" He rushes me into his car, bombarding me with questions. "I'll tell you on the way home." "Home?" He asks. "I mean, your place." He nods silently, and I tell him what happened on the way.
