"You fall right in it for a week, a month, or maybe just a minute or a lifetime
What's the difference?
Big bang or collision, love is blind"Today is Wednesday, just one day before the date with Miguel. I love the eagerness I've conjured from thinking about it! I've never been on a date, no one was interested in me, and if they were then they did a shitty way of showing me. The night at Miguel's house with his mother and uncle did not count whatsoever.
Setting the pink brush on the counter, I flip my hair behind my shoulders and apply a little gloss to my lips. I rub my lips together, making sure to create a popping sound when they separated, and walk out to my room. I picked up my leather backpack and phone, then turned to examine myself one last time in the giant mirror.
The high waisted Levi's fit my form perfectly, and the long sleeve gray turtle neck was tucked in. My feet were snug into my combat boots, but comfortable with my fuzzy socks that only I knew of.
The only thing I had to worry about now was my nerves. They've been on complete edge lately, watching out for their chance to attack. Since the unknown encounter yesterday while running, I feel like prey. For fucks sake, I'd like to know who the predator is.
My phone pings in my hand. I turn the device over and open the message from Miguel.
'Outside your house. Come on, princesa.'
I smile at my phone and look in the mirror one last time before descending down the staircase.
"Bye Gina!" I yell to wherever she is as I grab the door knob.
"Goodbye dear, I'll see you next week!"
Gina was assigned to travel to New York with her coworkers for an event. I'm not sure what it was, but something important I bet. That means I'll just have the house to myself, seeing as though dad won't be around much and Daniel is somewhere else.
Miguel stands outside the passenger door of his beautiful Dodge Charger. I smile at him and send him an awkward wave. Miguel smiles at my foolishness.
