I watched the way he observed me from afar—observing my every move the way predator did with prey. I watched as girls threw themselves at him, yet when I'm in sight, he accepted none of them.
They were all too beautiful for his rejection. The way their hips seductively swayed when they walked to and from him. The way their fingernails were always poise to perfection when they ran down his arm. And their physical appearance? Absolutely stunning.
I, on the other hand, had nothing to offer. My body was awkward and I was a short 5'1". I lacked the voluptuous curves and life in my brown eyes.
Yet, Miguel Acosta never took his hazel eyes off me. Why? I may never know.

If he did, he hasn't done anything to show me his sympathy. Just watched me wallow away into the abyss of darkness.
