"This..."
My jaw dropped when my eyes scanned the whole area once again.
'This can't be true.'
I was shocked, too shocked to comprehend the entire scene in front of me. In my current sight, I could see the very same situation I had in my dream.
Right. In my dream.
Same dead bodies. Same green field. Same grasses and tall trees. Same bright sunlight penetrated through the bodies, illuminating their disfigured faces which fortunately were covered with blood, so I couldn't see their faces clearly.
Though, there was something different between this situation in reality and my dream.
I remembered that in my dream, the dead bodies were covered with fresh blood, as if someone had just murdered them. Plus they were laying right on the ground, not under ground. However, these dead bodies now... were covered with dry blood and they had been buried under ground. And, it seemed someone had already dug the ground up and found these bodies, because I could see the ground piled up in disarray almost everywhere. Some big holes that were almost bigger than the size of human bodies--showing that whoever dug the ground was really searching for the bodies--also proved that what I was thinking was right.
Actually... It was very disturbing to see that for someone who had never seen real dead bodies like me. Unlike in my dream where I didn't feel sick at all, my stomach started to twist and flip in a kind of bad way as my eyes continued to survey them.
Luckily, my throat was feeling fine. I didn't want to burden Nicho by vomitting in front of him.
Nicho glanced at me, realizing that I had a pale face that was almost white, indicating that feeling of fear and sickness started to consume my body.
'Even though I could handle it well in my dream... Perhaps it's because this is real...'
All of sudden, Nicho who had been watching me gripped my shoulders and twirled my body so my back faced him, then pushed me away from the field.
"W-What are you doing?", I asked in confusion as I tried to look back at him.
He held my head and spun it back so my eyes faced the front again. I protested, but he still didn't say anything. So, I decided to just let him place me who knows where.
He stopped moving my body when we were beneath the shadow of a tall big trees with lots of leaves and branches. His eyes were fixed on mine as he began to say something.
"You stay here. I will be back soon. We just need to check the bodies and the field. If there is someone suspicious who try to talk or attack you, just scream."
I wanted to ask why he would do this, but he just shot me a glare which made me shut up.
'Oh, he is still angry.'
He turned around and started to go back to the field. But before he was far away from my current position, I managed to hear him mutter to himself, "... She doesn't need to see that."
'See that? He meant the dead bodies?'
I never got an answer as he now was completely out of my sight.
I leaned my back against the tree, tapping my foot in boredom while waiting for them to come back.
Until, I heard some voices from the bushes around me.
I frowned as I looked around to find where the source of voice coming from. 'It might be them. But there is no way they will be back this fast... right?' I thought while slowly going out of my hiding to check the bushes.
