A/N : after I wrote this chapter and edited it, I suddenly realize that Kei may be a mother complex (although apparently not). I think he will attack everyone who tries to harm his mother. That's why he doesn't trust Luna at first.

"What did you do in the basement?"
As soon as I closed the basement door, cold and emotionless words entered my ears. I knew very well whose voice it was. That voice... I hate it so much.
I glared at the owner of the voice, my father, who was standing a few meters away in front of me.
Paying close attention to his facial structure that was almost like mine, resentment grew more in my feeling as though I despised every of our resemblance. I looked away from him and clicked my tongue.
"Making magic staff."
I didn't know what his reaction look like when I gave that reply, but I bet he was glaring at me because somehow I could feel his piercing stare toward me.
"Disrespectful! I always tell you to continue practicing your magic! You have to become a professional wiza-"
"I don't want to!", I interrupted him and glared back at him, feeling angry. "You know, right! I can't control my magic properly at all since I was a kid! My magic is dangerous! It can take someone's life!"
"Shut up." Father's simple word quickly silenced the argument between us. Father then walked toward me and slammed his hand on the wall near my face with more calm and collected face but still anger could be seen from his cold eyes.
"You can't control your magic because you don't practice your magic. You only make magic staffs. Of course you can't control your magic."
"Yes. That's why I won't practice magic any further."
Silence started to envelope the room again as though the uncomfortable feelings could spread to the entire room. It became a glaring competition this time.
In the middle of that silence, I looked at him who started to clench his fist and gritted his teeth. It seemed his anger had almost reached the peak.
"You!"
As father almost lashed out to me, I suddenly heard mom's voice.
"Stop it!"
We simultaneously turned our head to see the source of voice. It was mom, standing a bit far from us. Tears came out of her crimson eyes as they flowed down her cheeks. The tears which came out of her eyes were a lot. If those tears kept flowing down, it made me worried that her tears would run out.
"Don't quarrel like this! Stop it already!"
As Mom shouted like that desperately, I immediately calmed down a bit because I couldn't bear seeing her sad face. I held down my urge to respond to father's words and obeyed her request. However, father didn't do what she asked and just looked away from her.
Unexpectedly, he suddenly took the vase which there was mom's favorite flower, Bliros (in this world, it looks like rose with black and white petals) in it and threw it to mom as the petals came off from its flower. Luckily, father just threw it to near her face, not right on her face, and the broken vase didn't struck her. Nevertheless, that still made me angry. I quickly grabbed his collar and pulled it down toward me since I was much shorter than him.
"What are you doing to mom?!"
"It's because of her that you become like this. She got what she deserved," he replied coldly.
