Chapter 42

{Shane's POV}

I opened my eyes. The sun shone right in my eyes because Joey had opened the curtains. "Joey why did you open the curtains? It's brighter than your teeth out there." I mumbled.

No answer. I turned around and saw the bed was empty. "Where the fuck did he go?" I mumbled to myself.

Then I realized he was out on a hike with Connor Franta, so I got up and dressed in flannel and an old pair of jeans before I went downstairs.

When I got there I noticed a big suitcase standing in the hallway. I walked farther and saw Sawyer was video chatting with a lady. She had dark hair and eyes in the color of crushed ice on a blue sky.

"Oh hey Shane!" Sawyer said as he turned around from the screen.

"Morning." I said calmly.

"Hello Shane!" The lady on the screen said.

"Oh, meet my mom." Sawyer smiled.

"Hello mrs. Hartman!" I waved at the screen.

"Shane lives here with Joey and me now." Sawyer explained to her.

"Great! Living the single life with your friends must be amazing!" She smiled at her son.

He looked back at me for a second and then said: "Well I am the only single left in this house.."

He went quiet and I knew he didn't know if he could tell about Joey and me dating, so I said: "Joey is dating me and I am dating Joey, but I'm going to get myself some breakfast now if you don't mind."

I walked off to the kitchen and ate the cereal. It was sad to see I messed up preparing it.. My milk was not cold and I had poured to much cereal in the bowl.

Then, after I ate the horrific cereal I got a call.

"Shane speaking. Who's there?"

"It's me. I got a new number and I just wanted to tell you."

"Lisa?"

"Yeah! And could we like.. Hang out today?"

"Errr okay.. Sure. Where are we going?"

"How about Starbucks?" She said.

"which one? Since this is LA there are more than 1 of those."

"The one closest to our apartment?"

"Lisa, that's your apartment now. We are not together so it's not mine anymore. See you in 20 minutes. Bye."

"Ex-girlfriend problems?" A voice behind me asked.

"Yeah, she doesn't seem to understand the apartment is hers since we broke up." I said, turning around to face Sawyer.

"Have I told you that I'll be gone for a week already?" He added.

"No? Where are you going?"

"Hawaii! I'll be filming a 'Thru my eyes' of Hawaii with my new helicopter camera! I can't wait to use it again!" He said with a smile on his face and this sparkle in his eyes, so I couldn't be anything but happy for him.

"Cool! When are you leaving?" I said trying to sound happy for him. I didn't know if it came out happy, because I wasn't feeling so happy.

The feeling that Lisa wouldn't give up on me grew every second.

"Today. In 50 minutes to be exact. I have to go now! Hitch is going to stay in this dog-hotel. If there's something, just call me, okay?"

"Sure! Have fun!" I said.

5 minutes later I looked at the clock.

It was 5 minutes later.

Sawyer and Joey both were gone.

"I should probably go and see Lisa." I said to myself before I walked out the door and locked it.

Arrived at Starbucks, I sat outside on a bench and waited for my ex-girlfriend. I could at least try to still be her friend. And after all she's also a part of the YouTube community

I looked at the sky and realized the weather in Los Angeles was like always good.

"Hey."

I looked away from the clouds drifting by and this small, blonde girl stood in front of me.

"Hi Lisa. Let's go inside, I'm melting out here."

So we went inside and sat there for like an hour. We talked about random stuff, like we always did, Lisa and I could turn every subject into a funny conversation. We just finished talking about people who film in like an 180 degree angle above their head when she suddenly asked what was better about Joey than her.

"Lisa, I'm not answering that. I'm happy with my new relationship and with you as my friend."

She looked into my eyes.

"You belong with me. We were the best couple, team Shisa. I need you to be with me."

She sounded possessive.

"No. Shisa is a friendship now. And I'm not yours. Never been. Can we change the subject now? I'm done with this one."

"Sure.. Oh, I wanted to ask you to take the paintings your fans made you. You forgot them."

"Let's go to your apartment then."

We left Starbucks and both made our way to the apartment.

Once I had packed all the drawings, paintings and letters from my fans, I threw the large back on my shoulder and walked towards the door.

"Bye Lisa! See you lat-"

I saw her coming closer from the back holding a thing that looked like a pan in her hand. And then everything turned black again.

"LISA! OPEN THE DOOR!"

I was tied against a chair in the guest bathroom.

'She hit me with a pan. That nasty..' I thought looking around me for something to cut the rope against my body with.

"Lisa! Get me out of here! Now!"

She stayed silent.

"I know you're there! Open up!"

When she still didn't respond I yelled my last solution.

"Lisa! If you don't open the fricking door I will cut my wrists open with this rope you tied my hands with."

Quickly, and for the dramatic effect, I added:

"And I'll bleed till death."

I immediately heard a key in the lock of the door, followed by Lisa's head.

"What's your problem?!" I shouted, looking right into her eyes.

Calmly she responded:

"Joey. Joey is my problem."
