"Please, stop," I cried.

He paused for a moment, a mere millisecond, to blink in mock contemplation and simply say, "No."

He continued lowering me down into the pit as I hung to the rope for dear life. Lower and lower I went, the ground of the woods getting further and further away as I descended under it.

"I APOLOGISED!" I screamed, my shrill voice echoing up through the deep hole and briefly around the deserted woods.

He halted again, and I could only distantly see his silhouette. I could almost make out his face splitting into a wide, wicked grin as he almost sang back,

"Too late! You were disobedient and therefore you reap the consequences!"

Then he resumed lowering me down as my breathing became shallower. Looking down, I became lightheaded; the sky was a fairly dark shade of blue so not much light fell into the hole — meaning I couldn't see the bottom. Looking up in distress, the opening of the pit was getting smaller as I was lowered even further.

All of a sudden, I felt a numbing, controlling wave of fury.

"I FUCKING HATE YOU, YOU FUCKING CUNT! I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD I WILL MURDER YOU WITH MY BLOODY FINGERNAILS!" my words were almost inaudible, shaking with furious wrath, every word ringing with violent honesty.

He merely laughed.

The sound travelled in taunting waves down to me, and my blood boiled even further. He thought nothing of my threats.

"You swear to God?" he laughed, "I'd say you were closer to hell than heaven right now, don't you think?"

My stomach jolted and before I could reply, my feet hit the ground. I gasped, my hands still held tightly to the rope — but then, with a powerful pull, he yanked the rope up. I cried out involuntary as it burned my hands, then looked up as the rope disappeared over the edge of the pit.

"I'll bring you up when you promise to be a good girl, Lorelei!" he yelled down to me, each of his words taunting, mocking. My mouth twisted in rage but I knew he wouldn't see it from here, and I wasn't stupid; I knew I'd have to behave to survive — well, at least for a little longer. So, swallowing my bubbling, blood-boiling anger, I shouted back,

"I promise I'll be good!"

I knew that it wasn't so easy, but I had to at least try.

He laughed loudly again, and the rumbling sound grated against my ears, making me flinch.

"I believe you! But I'll let it sink in for a while; just so you believe it yourself."

As his figure disappeared over the edge, leaving me staring up at a dark sky, my neck started hurting from craning it so much. And then I realised that I could be left here for days, maybe weeks, maybe even months if he wanted. And then I realised I had no food. And no water. And no protection from the forces of nature.

And then the fear kicked in.

A/N

AHHHHH FUCK. IT'S HAPPENING. "WHAT'S HAPPENING?!" YOU ASK IN A PANIC.

i don't know. vote if you want to find out. (spoiler alert: you do want to find out. like, you really really do.)
haha gotem

No but for real... F TO PAY RESPECTS FOR LORELEI. My poor girl is going through hell, courtesy of Satan himself. What did she do to deserve this?! She's a good person.

But then again, as a certain Eilish would say (or sing, rather) — all the good girls go to hell.

VOTE! This shit is getting dark. Lighting up that little star in the corner will help our dear characters find their way.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy writing this. It was horrible, yet enjoyable. I'm a good person, I promise. Just, y'know, stirring up the plot a lil. Don't mind me.

Again, vote and comment. I cant say it enough. I LOVE VALIDATION FOR MY BOOK BC THIS BOOK IS MY CHILD AND I AM PROUD OF MY CHILD.

(If you don't, you'll end up in a deep dark pit tonight. Just a heads up. ;P )

Love,
Your Nightmare.
