Today was one of those days. One of the days when you felt like everything was going to turn out bad, so you wanted to just avoid it all and stay in bed, not waking up.
I felt like that right now.
The clean smell of flowers was stained to my duvets which were pulled up to my nose like a shield to protect me from the rest of the world. I clung to them like a lifeline.
The anxiety felt like a rope around my stomach, tightening by the second — but it also felt like a pool of liquid in my guts, curdling and bubbling and expanding.
I breathed in and breathed out. That's what I did when I felt like this.
Then I rolled out of bed.

"We have a surprise for you!" Mum squealed, her face lit from within as a grin spread over her face.
I spooned cereal into my mouth and blatantly ignored the feeling in my stomach as I tried to look interested.
"Cool, what is it?" I asked, smiling — but it looked more like a grimace.
"We got tickets for you! Tickets to the carnival!" Mum clapped, her eyes hungrily scanning mine for any hint of excitement.
"Wow! I ... don't know what to say..." I trailed off with a fake smile. I'd always wanted to go to the carnival and go on the biggest rides — and then I'd turned into a teenager and I didn't find appeal in that.
But, of course, to my parents I'd always be ten years old.
"Thanks, Mum!" I tried to sound grateful with all my heart. I loved that she was trying to make me happy. It's just ... the negative emotions I felt overtook the positive ones, so I found it hard to convey anything good. Like happiness. He had taken that away from me.
"Well, it's only ten minutes away and we're starting soon, so go get ready. Chop chop!"
Would this take my mind off of things? It was worth a try, wasn't it?
I decided it was, so I slurped up the remnants of my milk and went to get dressed.

VOTE AND COMMENT IF YOU LIKED THE FIRST PART!
Now, a selective few of you would have noticed the use of a particular italicised pronoun, and may be wondering what the darn heck it means. But have no fear; watashi ga kita to answer your questions! (If I used that wrong, don't point it out. I pride myself on my anime-learnt Japanese.)
AGAIN, DON'T FORGET TO VOTE AND COMMENT! I LIKE SEEING THAT SHIT.
LOVE YA AND READ ON!
