I know, i know, i was suppose to update Sunday. But i was busy sunday and then came Monday and you guys know im inactive during school weekends.
MAYA POV
"Maya?" I could feel myself turn in bed again trying to get away from whoever it was that was calling my name. My brain felt like it was pounding against my skull and my mouth was dryer than the Sahara Desert.
"Maya wake up!" This time I'm being shaken and my eyelids feel as if they have cement blocks attached to them as I slowly lift them open to see none other than Lucas Blake Friar looking back at me with furrowed eyebrows. His hair is messy and his eyes are like glittering emeralds even though they're narrowed at me. The dark circles around them have lightened slightly, but his eye whites are a red tell all, proving to me that he hasn't gotten proper rest. He raises one of his furrowed brow and then looks at me closely before he lies back down on his side facing me, rubbing his hand up and down my back.
"You were talking in your sleep..." The look of concern mixed with another emotion never left his face.
"What time is it? I'm going to be late for work!" I sit up too quickly and the sunlight pushes me back down. I think my eyes are melting!
"It's only ten. You said you didn't have to work until twelve. What were you dreaming about?" Lucas hands me a glass of water and an aspirin and I happily take it from him, not losing the irony of the situation.
"I don't remember...what was I saying?"
"I'd rather not repeat it."
Lucas stood quickly from the bed and I could tell he was aggravated. It's still early, way too early for this. I don't feel like bickering so I drop the subject and stand on shaky legs after him.
I head to the bathroom grabbing my toothbrush all too happy with the minty refresher after my behavior last night. I cringe when I think about the way that I revealed what happened at the office, but it's a good thing that Lucas knows. As I rinse my mouth out, another flash of him jumping into his car try to go find Peyton tells me otherwise.
When I get back to his room to gather my things for work, there are two mugs of tea on his bedside table and a muffin there for me to eat. I pick up a mug and take a sip welcoming the warm lemon flavored liquid as it helps to settle my stomach somewhat and even slow the pounding that's still going in my head. I would love to eat the muffin, but I don't think it's safe for my stomach. It lurches and flips at the thought of me even taking a bite so I opt against it.
Lucas walks out of the closet pulling a grey sweater with brown patches on the elbow over his head and then sits on the bed to put his socks on. The look on his face is stern and I can tell something is bothering him still. I put my mug back down and crawl over the bed until I get to him wrapping my arms around him from behind and resting my head on top of his. He stops his movements and rubs my hand before he continues.
"Thank you for the tea. I don't think I could eat the muffin though."
"Mhm."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I can feel myself start to get annoyed. Are we seriously going back to this?
"Lucas what is wrong? What did I do now?"
"Nothing, you didn't do anything." Lucas moves my arms from around his neck and stands going back to the closet to grab his Doc Martens.
"What did I say then? Why are you acting like this?" My head begins to pound again, quickly changing from the aftermath of a hangover to a migraine that's sure to leave me in a worse condition.
