Rose's POV
"It's been two weeks, and she's barely left this place." I said somberly, staring in to Ash's hospital room with Hazel and her father at my sides. Ember sat in a chair at his side, his hand locked in hers, like she had for the last two weeks. Except this time, she was asleep. Her head resting by his.

"She's only come out to train me." Hazel added somberly, "and even then she's been...spacey..."

"It kills me to see her like this," I sighed, "I mean. She's never like this..."

"She feels like it's her fault this happened, she's deadset on that." Her dad answered with a heavy sigh, "once she gets like that, you can't convince her otherwise. She's just doing what she can."

"That and she's determined to be here when he wakes up..." Hazel finished.

"When?" I asked, "I don't wanna be a downer, but we have to be realistic."

"We've had too much bad luck recently," Hazel answered, "it's gotta turn around eventually."

"Let's hope so..." I sighed as I turned back to Ember and Ash, a sorrowful look in my eyes.

"Oh my," exclaimed a female voice behind us, "we weren't aware Ash had any visitors."

We all turned around quickly, and I prayed I didn't see what I thought I would. Unfortunately, the prayers weren't answered. Standing in front of us was a man and a woman, both with the same Ash gray hair as Ash. I let out a heavy sigh as I hesitantly met their eyes.

"Are you..?" Embers dad asked cautiously. Deep down I hoped they wouldn't answer yes, and maybe it was just a coincidence, but I knew better than to get my hopes up for that.

"Yes, we are..." The man answered somberly.

"How did you know what happened, with the CCT down?" I asked. It's not likely someone gets this lucky with no communication.

"Bronson came and found us." He explained, "can we go see our son now?"

"Uhhh, yeah," Hazel answered, "Ember is in there right now, but I'm sure she'll leave you two alone with him."

"I don't think that will be necessary," Ash's mom answered as they opened the door into his room. Whatever was going to happen next, I was dreading.

Ember's POV
I wasn't quite sure how long I was out, all I know is I woke up in the hospital to the sound of the door creaking open. I was slowly coming out of my daze, but the moment I saw who was in front of me, I shot awake. Ash's parents stood in the doorway, both their eyes glazed and watery from tears. I've seen them plenty of time in pictures, but I never imagined this is how we'd meet face to face.

"Oh no no..." I muttered softly but quickly as tears started to make their way down my face, "oh god I'm so sorry. This is my fault..."

"Ember, no no. None of this is your fault." Ash's mom said softly as she slowly approached me.

"But it is!" I cried out, "I put your son in this situation. It's my fault he's like this."

"No no. It's not you're fault. You're just going through grief." His dad cut in, trying to comfort me. It spoke volumes about them. How they both tried to comfort me like that, even though we just met, but their words wouldn't change my feelings about what I did. I hurt Ash.
