Thursday came around wet and windy,the rain got a little worse while I was in the shower taking a hot bath of course, Mum called me down for breakfast.
I pilled my plate with pancakes, bacon and eggs and poured a cup of orange juice.
"Who's that handsome boy that has been dropping you off honey? ", She asked walking into the dinning room. She looked terrible, I could see bags under her eyes and her hair seemed like she hadn't brushed it for days.
" Mum, what's going on?", I asked. " Haven't you been getting enough sleep? "
"I'm quite fine Angie", she laughed weakly. " Now tell me who that handsome lad is"
"Are you sure your okay mum? "
"Yes dear, now let's hear it" , she said looking at me intendingly.
"Oh, that's just Zion"
"Just Zion? "
"I tutor him for maths"
"Uh so you've spent time together", she said, her eyes sparkling.
" It's not like that, we're just friends, besides I'm not his type anyways ", I said as I stuffed the last pancake into my mouth.
At that moment the door bell went.
" That must be Freya, goodbye mum", I said giving her a kiss as I ran to the door.
"Well your... ", I stopped in the middle of my sentence.
Zion stood there, his half smile plastered on his face with a umbrella in hand,he wore dark jeans with a maroon shirt, his signature black jacket over it.
" What are you doing here? "
I half shouted half whispered. "Giving you a ride to school", he said with raised eyebrows. " But Freya.... "
"Don't worry, I already told her I'll be the one to bring you to school"
"Your so arrogant", I said rolling my eyes as I got into the open umbrella he now held.

" So the beach bash is coming up ", Zion said, his voice breaking the silence in the car.
" Yeah I heard "
"You going with anyone? "
"Ummm.. No"
"Oh, I thought you were going with your little boyfriend", he said smirking.
"Excuse you, and who might that be? "
"Jordan or whatever his name is"
"Oh you mean Josh", I busted out laughing.
" What's funny? " , he asked obviously annoyed.
"If you think I got something going on with Josh then your wrong, we're just friends, besides I wouldn't want to get into a fight with Jenelle again".
" Then go to the beach bash with me", he said looking out the window and onto the school entrance.
"Are you serious? ", I snorted, trying to hide my laugh. But when I turned to him , he was looking at me with a dead serious expression on his face.
" Wait.. Your really serious aren't you? "
"Yes Angel, I'm serious"
"Well I suppose so..."
"Good. Now,you will sit at my table during lunch from now onwards", he said getting out of the car and walking to my side, opening the door so I could get out and into the umbrella.
" Your joking, are we really going to do this? "
"Yes"
"And..... "
"Shush, no more words Angel".

" Here you go ", Jenelle said, dumping my jacket on my seat in 3rd period chemistry. She flipped her hair to her back and sat down.
" Thanks ", I said hanging it on the hook attached to the desk.
She shrugged and turned her attention to Kelly who had came over to discuss something with her.
They started talking quietly and I couldn't help but to eavesdrop on their conversation.
" Daddy said I have to be careful all the time, he said he might ask one of his boys to keep an eye on me", she said quietly.
"Did he says why? ", Kelly whispered.
" No, he seemed like he has a lot on his mind lately".
The teacher chose that moment to walk in and cut the conversation short.
I know it had nothing to do with me but why did I have the nagging feeling that I was missing something.
I shook my head and tried my hardest to concentrate on the board.

I followed Zion through the crowded cafeteria to his table where his friends and their girl friends sat. He pulled out a chair and placed it next to his.
"Sit down Angel", he said taking his seat. I looked around and caught Freya's eyes.
" Help me! ", I mouthed to her, but the devil was clapping her hands and making imaginary crowd hootings.
I took the seat helplessly, forcing myself to sit still and not shake.
" Hey girl! ", Alexys said putting out her hand for me to shake and waving her other hand at the boy sitting next to her. " You've met Nicholas ".
I nod remembering the hallway meeting.
" I'm Brandon, but everyone calls me B, and this is Charlotte "
"Names Austin and she's Fifany".
I shook hands with them then turned to the last couple. The girl was gorgeous and like I said before the boy, Edwin was cute.
" Hi, Tiffany and he's Edwin "
"Your very gorgeous", I said slightly blushing.
" Thanks " She said laughing. "At least someone thinks I'm gorgeous".

In no time we were laughing and chatting like we've known each other for years.
" So you going to the beach bash with Zion ? ", Charlotte asked and I nodded.
" Well then, we'll all see you guys there ", Brandon said giving me a high five.
" Hey guys, we gotta get going, I'll see you all tomorrow ", Zion said getting up.
" See you ", they all chorused.
" Don't get killed on the way ", Brandon said laughing as we made our way out the cafeteria.

" Where are we going ", I asked as we made our way to his car. " I can't ditch school ".
" We have tutorials right? "
"Yeah but.... "
"Come on Angel it wouldn't hurt"
"My mum cannot hear about this"
"Cross my heart", he said drawing a X on his heart.
I jumped in and off we went.

We drove for some time, passing the town and the amusement park. The scenery was amazing and I dared say another word.
We come to what seemed like a slope and up we went until we came to a clearing overlooking the sea. He parked the car and I jumped out to take a good look at the cliff.
"My God Zion", I said taking a deep breath.
" You don't like it? " , he asked, his face masked with disappointment.
"No.no.its beautiful, the view is beautiful", I said smiling against the wind.
" I know, the view is beautiful ", he said, smiling as he walked forward and stood beside me.
" Angel ", he said, his voice softer than the wind, like the wave crashing into the cliff's edge.
I turned and looked into his eyes, they were golden brown today with a spec of green which glittered, I didn't know he had that.
" Yeah? ", I looked at him questionly.
He caught a strand of my hair and tucked it behind my ear.
" Tell me, would you jump off this cliff if I was falling?  "
"Yes,  of course"
"Are you sure? ", he asked taking a step closer.
He smelt of aftershave, cigars and cinnamon.
I felt my head getting lighter.
" Yeah,  I'm sure "
"You promise? "
I laughed, Zion didn't seem like the person to be asking for to keep a promise.
"I promise", I whispered because he was now just inches away , our lips nearly touching and then everything went black.
