Ch.21||Was It All Just a Lie?

"So,what.. happened?",Freya asked,smiling from ear to ear.
"Nothing",I shrugged.
"You can't lie to me Angie,I can read you like a book",she implored.
"Your so nosey",I chuckled.
"Because.... I'm your best friend",she laughed ,pinching me.
"Ow..ow..stop it",I laughed, slapping her hands away.
"Come on Angie",
"Fine, fine...he..umm",
"He what?Angie!!",she yelled.
"Calm down okay,he kissed me"
"He what!!holy shit",she yelled laughing and jumping up to hug me .
"I knew he likes you".
I smiled and shrugged,looking out the car glass watching the rain drops pelt against it.

From the slow drive to school in Freya's car, I realized something.
The rain was such a fascinating sight, it's like a painter was swishing his paint brush at the canvas bringing colour to the world.
I sigh and turned to look at Freya. She was watching me under her eyelashes.
"What?",I asked.
"He makes you happy, doesn't he?", She replied, giving a knowing smile.
"I don't  know what I feel when I'm with him",I said honestly.
"Well, give it time",she said as she pulled into the school parking lot.

Taking my hand into hers,Freya starting walking towards the school entrance,with me following in her wake.
"So Richie and I are going out this Saturday",she implied
"That's great",I smiled.
"Why don't you ask Zion so you both could join us?",
"I don't know, we aren't official or anything you know"
"Just ask him ,will you",
"Sure, sure",

At that moment, my eyes caught the familiar golden locks of Zion.
My smile dropped when I saw who was standing beside him.
Jenelle stood in front of him, her hands resting on his shoulders.They seem to be conversing in serious tones.
At that split second I didn't hear anything Freya was saying. All my focus was set on Zion and Jenelle.
Zion said something and Jenelle bursted out laughing, she pulled him close and kissed him than pushed him away with a sly grin on her face as she shasheyed away.

"Angie are you seeing this",Freya said disbelief written all over her face.
Trying to hold back the tears welling up in my eyes, I ran for the bathroom,Freya following in my wake.
I ran into a cubicle and shut the door,letting the tears spill out.

Stupid, stupid girl, you thought you could have had something with him, how foolish.

"Angie, Angie",I heard Freya call as the door shut behind her.
"Aaargh I'm gonna kill him when I see him", she yelled.I heard her kick the waste basket.
I pulled a Kleenex out of my bag and wipe my tears and open the door slowly.
"I'm sorry Angie",Freya said solemnly.
I shrugged,"I asked for it".
"I'm gonna kill him, I swear"
"Freya don't",
"But.."
"Please
, let's not push it",I plead.
"Fine, but I'm still gonna kill him though",she said angrily.

The day couldn't get any better,Charlotte and Brandon had a major argument and now they were giving each other the eye from one table apart.
I didn't have anything to say about that, I was going through the shock of being betrayed, I mean its not like we were going out or anything but you can't just kiss someone and the next day you go and kiss someone else.
"Here he comes, the traitor",Freya hissed under her breath.
I turned around and saw Zion making his way towards us.

"Hey",he said.
"Hey yourself",Freya muttered under her breath.
"Angie can we talk",he asked, looking at me.
I nodded and followed him out the cafeteria door,stopping only when we've reach the hall.
"What is it",I asked with raised eyebrows, keeping myself in check,so I did not make a fool of myself.
"Can we talk about us",he asked.
"There is no us",I implied.
"But I thought last night...",
"I was just keeping my end of the bargain, just making you fall in love with me more",I laughed, although it hurt so bad to lie to him, I had to do it,I had to show him I didn't care that he played girls.
"What do you mean?",he asked, his face going red.
"You have no right to be angry, after what you've done, you shouldn't even be angry",I said ,daring him to tell me the truth.

"What are you talking about?",he asked.
"Don't act like you don't know anything",I laughed."You kissed Jenelle this morning, didn't you?".
"That was nothing, I swear",he said,his eyed pleading with me.
"Oh,it sure didn't look like nothing",I said.
"Let me explain",
"Explain?",I laughed."what are you gonna explain Zion, that you didn't mean it?that it was just a game?that you don't care about people's feelings?"
"Please Angel"
"You can't just kiss a person than go and kiss another person the next day, it doesn't work that way Zion",I said.

"This is what I was afraid of,you wouldn't understand",he whispered.
"I understand enough Zion",I whispered back.
"So what do you want?",I asked again.
"You",he said. I could tell he was telling the truth.
"That can't be the answer,Zion",I objected.
"But it's true, I've never felt this way with someone before",he said.
"Don't lie to yourself Zion, I'm sure those feelings will go away soon enough",I shrugged.
"If we're done, I have to go",I said as I made my way around him but he grab my hand.
"Please Angel, let me explain",he pleaded.
"I have to go",I said,yanking my hand from his grip as I  walked back into the cafeteria.
"What did he want?",Freya asked the moment I sat down.
"Nothing, he wanted to explain himself, I told him I had no time for that",I replied, eating my fries.
"Good and it better stay that way",she said, taking a sip of her drink.

Hey guys, I'm moving to a new house so i wont be able to update soon.
I'm getting myself a new laptop so I'll probably finish off the book in the following months.
