Ch.16||Trouble

She linked her arms with his and whispered something in his ear and he's face lit up in a wide grin.
I felt like someone was clawing at my chest and I couldn't breathe properly. I took a gulp of water and looked away, I couldn't stand the sight of Zion with Jenelle.
The bastard, and I thought we had something, what a fool I am.
I had to get away from this place. As far away from the lying prick as possible.
"Hey, could you give me two shots", I waved to the boy behind the bar.
" Here you go ", he said placing two glasses on the counter.
I drink both in one swift and waved him over for a another go. After my seventh shot I could feel my head getting lighter.
I stood up and walked, I had no where in mind but I had to go somewhere somehow.

I found myself at the pier overlooking the sleeping ocean. The sea was so calm I wish I was it.No problems and all.
I remembered how he smiled when she whispered in in ear and it broke my heart more.
I know I shouldn't be feeling this way but I couldn't stop my heart from falling.
Man it hurts to see him with someone else and he's not even mine.
I sat down and look beyond the skyline wishing it would give me comfort somehow.
"Hey Angie", the familiar voice of Josh came from behind me.
I turned around and smiled at him.
" How did you find me ? "
"I saw you leave and followed you"
"Come sit by me", I said patting the space beside me. He walked over and sat down dangling his feet.
" So, what are you doing out here all alone? ", he quirked a eyebrow. " I thought Zion was supposed to be with you ".
I laughed half heartedly and shaked my head.
" No, I guess I wasn't a good enough company "
"You like him, don't you? "
"No! "
"Yes you do, I see the way you look at him", he said smiling.
" Isn't it that obvious? ", I laughed.
" Yeah, your very easy to read"
I smiled and look back to the sea.
"It gets easier you know", he said taking a cigarette out of his jacket and lighting it.
" What? ", I turned to him.
" The hurt ", he said, taking a drag if his cigarette.
" Oh", I said, dropping my gaze.

We sat down for awhile just talking. Me staring out to the sea and him smoking his second cigarette.
"You got a ride home? "
"I'm not really sure, I have to look for Freya"
"Come on I'll give you a ride"
"Are you sure? "
"We're friends aren't we? "
I nodded and he stood up giving me his hand. I took it and he lifted me up and walked down the pier until we reached the end, I could
See the lights from the party.
We walked for awhile and reached it.
"I'll meet you at the car park, I have to look for Freya".
" Okay ".
I walked around the dance floor my eyes scanning the place for her.
Someone bumped into me.
" Hey watch where your going!  ", I whipped around and there stood Zion.
I felt like slapping him so bad but I couldn't do it so I just balled my hand and turned to walk away from him but he took hold of my arm and turned me around to face him.
" Angel, I'm sorry ", he said, looking sincere.
" Let go of me ", I yelped trying to twist my arm out off his grip.
" Angel please! ", he pleaded
"Oh so now you have time to talk, you know what, just leave me alone Zion", I said finally pulling my hand free.
" Angel ,please listen "
"It's Angelica, my name is Angelica," I said, trying my hardest to hold back the tears that threatened to fall.
I started to walk away from him, but he followed me, trying until we reached the car park where Josh was waiting.
"Angel, I'll take you home", he said, taking a hold of my arm again.
" Angie, is he bothering you ", Josh asked, walking to stop beside me.
" Stay out of this dude ", Zion snarled at him.
" Let go of me", I said yet again, yanking my arm out of his grip.
"Yeah, let go Zion", Josh mocked.
I didn't see the oncoming punch from Zion, but I saw who was at the receiving end. Josh swayed back and I had to hold him, to keep him from falling, his nose was bleeding. " What the hell ", I yelled at Zion. " Are you out of your freaking mind ".
" He asked for it", he replied, cleaning his hand with his shirt.
"You disgust me", I shouted,  giving his chest a push that I put all my might into. " I don't want to see you or even talk to you ".
" You don't mean that ", he said clearly taken aback.
" Oh, I'm sure I am", I said, pulling Josh to his feet. "Come on Josh, let's go".

" I'm sorry, you got your nose broken because of me ", I apologize once we were in Josh's truck.
" Don't worry, it's not your fault ", he half smile, his other hand holding some tissue he found in the compartment of his to his nose and the other one to drive.
The rest of the ride was quiet, until we reached my house.
" Thanks again Josh, goodnight ", I said as I go out.
" Anytime Angie, goodnight ", he smiled.

I reached for the spare key underneath the flower pot and opened the door and hung my jacket. The place was dead quiet, I guess mum must already asleep.
I tiptoed up to my room and closed the door slowly behind me.

After I took a shower and changed into my nightie, I laid down in the familiar warmth of my bed and recalled what happened at the party.
Zion had the nerve to not show up and then bring Jenelle to the party, man the nerve of that guy.
I ran my hand through my hair and settled down to sleep.
It was a good thing Josh was there to take me home.
I was just drifting off to sleep when a thought suddenly hit me.
How did Josh know where I lived, I didn't mention that to him in any of our conversations.
