First week went by and thank god it did not rain anymore. Freya showed me around school and took it upon herself to sit with me at the cafeteria.
By Thursday I was able to get to classes by myself without getting lost which was a relief because I didn't have to handle any more awkward stares. It's Friday, I'm sitting in the passenger seat of my mums old Camry, earplugs in my ear listening to some 90s song, the tune is so catchy, I bet I'll be humming this song in the showers soon.
"I'll be home a little late today mum, my friend Freya and I are going to the library", I said as I throw my phone into my backpack. " Okay, is she dropping you off? ", she asked looking towards the school doors as if searching for someone.I didn't have time to ask her that cause I already shut the car door. " Yeah", I said. "Okay fine", she said waving me away without taking her eyes off the school door. That was awkward, I thought as I walked through the doors and make my way to my locker.Only my locker was bared by a tall boy with blue eyes and sandy blonde hair and his friends who were in what looked like the schools jock jackets because it was spotting the familiar ivy green and white colors of the school. Jocks, I thought as I shake my head, not a big fan.
"Excuse me", I said as politely as possible but the boy seem to not have heard me because he kept talking to his friends.
" Ah, hello, your blocking my locker", I tried again, this time with a little annoyance. He turned to face me, he was the handsome type up close, firm set of jawlines and perfect hair that fell to one side."You can stare all you want when we're alone ", he said smirking,I realized I was staring and tried to divert my eyes anywhere but him." Your Angelica, right?". "Yes, now will you please move I need to get my books inside the locker and be on my way", I said biting my tongue from saying anything else. " Woah, easy girl, I'll move and you can get your stuff beautiful", he said the smirk still on his face, and his friends started hooting.
Handsome and a total jerk I mentally made a note.
I shove some textbooks into my bag pack and put the rest back into the locker. "What are you doing Saturday", his voice came from behind the locker door. God he was still here, the jerk. "Nothing you need to know about", I said closing the locker door and looking him straight in the eyes." Why do you want to know anyways".
"One of my friend is throwing a party and I thought maybe you'd want to come", he said leaning against the lockers." I don't even know you", I said folding my arms. "Oh, sorry, Names Josh, Joshua Greene, captain of the school football team", he said giving a apological smile, streching out his arm. " Nice to meet you Josh, now can I go", I said turning around and walking away. "Hey are you still coming to the party", he called after me, but I was already turning a corner to a hallway." I want a length long essay on historical events that occurred in the 18-19 century ", Ms.Mogul said just as the bell for lunch went. " I'll be expecting all essays to be handed in on Monday ".
I headed to the cafeteria and joined the line to get my snack." Hey you! ", I turned around to see Freya standing beside me, smiling with a tray of food in her hands." Hey", I said smiling back. "Heard you met Josh Greene and made quite the impression", she said looking at me expectently as if waiting for an answer. " How do you know I met him", I said trying to remember if I mentioned it to her. "Small school, news goes around fast", she said shrugging and heaping her tray with fries. " Rumor has it he was flirting with you".
"That's absurd! ", I said laughing as we made our way to the doors leading out to the tables outside the cafeteria.
Freya saw her approaching before I did. " Oh no,I bet Jenelle heard the rumors too"she said her fingers digging daggers into my arm.
"Hey Freya", she said her eyes lingered on Freya for a minute. She had straight chestnut hair and the lightest brown eyes I've seen in a while, the average height. The dress she wore fitted her curves very well. She was beautiful I couldn't disagree.
Her whole attention shifted to me. " You must be the new girl,I'm Jenelle Jasmine Nixon,I heard you were flirting with my boyfriend ".
Her light brown eyes stared accusingly into mine. " I... I wasn't.... ", I began trying my hardest not to stutter too much. " Now, now no need to apologize, I just wanted to make sure you weren't going after my boyfriend ", she said pouting her lips, her hands on my shoulders. " After all we wouldn't want a lot of enemies being that we are new".
She gave a what seem like a sweet smile and made her way back to her table, swaying her hips as she went gaining some cat calls from the boys sitting nearby.
"And you said she looks like me", I sight, following Freya close behind."Although she's pretty, she sure does have an attitude. " Don't be intimidated by Janelle, everyone knows she's like that", Freya said as we came to stop at the outside of the cafeteria. "But try to avoid Josh for now, he has a snack of going after girls just to cause trouble", she said fixing her glasses on her nose, that's when I saw them. They were seated at a table, five boys and four girls. One of the boys wore glasses, he had his arms around a shorter girl who was laughing at something he said. The other boy, the cute one seem like he was deep in conversation with the brunette. The one with long blonde hair seem like he was the geek of the group along with the Chinese looking girl who sat beside him because they were comparing some papers.Another one was the short boy with who I presume must be his girlfriend because she was leaning on his shoulder and laughing at the boy with glasses.
Then there was him.
