Ch 23: Surprises

"What about that one?"

"Lisa yah, you can't pet any dogs. Just forget about it." Chaeyoung scolds, making Lisa pout.

"You promised me before we left home that I can pet any dog I want. We've seen a hundred of them until now, like the universe is trying to tell me something, but I've pet zero dogs. Zero, Rosé, because you are grumpy."

"You can't bend down to touch them in the first place and even if you could, you shouldn't because you have to stay away from infections, okay?"

"No, it's not okay. You lied to me. And I'm not gonna touch the dog and then touch my wound, I'm not dumb." Lisa retorts, trying to sound as obnoxious as possible because deep down she knows that Chaeyoung is right. She doesn't want to admit it though because she really wants to pet every dog she sees walking on the streets. "Will Kai or Kuma be there at least?"

"I don't think so, Jennie might've kept them at her parents house." Chaeyoung answers.

"This sucks." Lisa sighs and pouts, not able to hide her disappointment. "Babe, you're walking really fast. Are we late or something?"

"No, I'm sorry." Chaeyoung sighs too, finally slowing down, only now realizing that she in fact walks way faster than Lisa is able to walk. She slows down and allows Lisa to grab her arm and pull her closer so they can walk side by side. "I'm just mad."

"Because of the cab driver?"

"Yes! He left us two miles away because he saw another client. What the fuck—" Chaeyoung exclaims in frustration.

"Yah Park Chaeyoung!" Lisa scolds and Chaeyoung knows it's from cursing.

"Yah Lalisa! Now you have to walk!"

"Is it really two miles away?" Lisa really doesn't know where they're going, as in the location, but she knows that Chaeyoung is taking her to her and Jennie's affair place.

Chaeyoung has been acting a little secretive since yesterday when she told Lisa that she wanted to show her 'this place', so Lisa has been acting a little curious and clueless, even though they both know that Lisa isn't that clueless. They've actually talked about it before, Lisa just doesn't know what exactly she's going to see today.

"No, it's just around the corner." Chaeyoung mumbles, effectively making Lisa giggle her amusement. It's usually funny when Chaeyoung exaggerates.

"Dr. Bae said that I should be taking the longer walks that I can, remember? So, it's fine." Lisa reassures as she pecks Chaeyoung's cheek, trying to calm her down with her own unique way. She's successful, she almost always is, as Chaeyoung doesn't say anything and remains by Lisa's side to maintain their slow pace.

Even though they weren't that far away, it takes them several minutes to get to their destination. Chaeyoung guides Lisa through a pretty dark, considering that it's noon and sunny, alley until they come to a stop in front of a big black door.

Chaeyoung knows that Jennie and Jisoo are already inside, so she knows that the door is unlocked and she pushes it open, stepping inside first and waiting for Lisa to follow.

"You wanted me here, Jennie." Chaeyoung hears Jisoo's angry voice coming from inside, causing her to sigh.

"Well, excuse me for requesting that you spend some of your valuable time with me."

Chaeyoung shuts the door loudly to let them know that they're here, and make them stop arguing, as she turns to look at Lisa biting her bottom lip in worry. Lisa feels like they're imposing but she still follows Chaeyoung down a corridor before they enter a room where they find Jisoo and Jennie.
