i was sitting in second period, algebra, checking out my nails and being bored. my grades were all right. they weren't the best they could be, but they were ok. the classroom door opened and the teacher stopped writing on the board, halfway to an equation to look at who stood in the doorway. the whole class leaned forward in curiosity. Noah stepped in and stopped, looking around the room. he saw me. i pointed at me and the whole class turned to me. i stood up, my sun glasses on and leather jacket unzipped. several girl gave me looks of awe, others gave me looks of jealousy and even disgust. all the guys looked at me as if they were in love. if they had been cartoons, their tongues would've rolled out their mouths with their eyes popping out as daggers. i walked through the room and got to the door, following Noah out of the room. he shut the door and dragged me outside.

"what the fuck were you thinking." he hissed. "you carved a rose into his jaw with a fucking knife."

"it's not that big of a deal, Noah." i rolled my eyes.

"not that big a deal." his voice rose, mimicking me. "why did you do it."

"he said i was a bitch, selfish, and weak." i said in a low voice. "he carved into my bike 'rich girls shouldn't play games.' he's a criminal like me. i couldn't kill him there, so i left a mark so i know him when i meet him again."

"excuse me, did you say when you meet him again?" he asked, shifting his stance.

"yes." i said, "yes i did."

"why?" he asked.

"because I'm going to hunt him down." i hissed. "and if i can't find him, he'll come along eventually."

"i see. there's only one problem with that plan." he tapped his chin. "YOU CARVED A FUCKING ROSE." i flinched at his loud exclamation.

"it'll be fine, Noah."

"like hell it'll-"

"is there a problem here?" we both turned to see the guy i had carved standing there, looking at us like we were an old bickering couple.

"no. no problem." i snapped. "other than the fact you scratched my bike."

"hey, that was before i knew you weren't playing dress up." he raised his hands in surrender.

"I'm not some fucking princess doll." i growl. he grinned, then winced from the tug on the rose under his bandage. he looked like shit.

"I'm taking you home, Ashlyn. you can't stay out of trouble." he grabbed my arm. i ripped from his grasp and headed for my bike. "straight home, Ashlyn!" he warned. i nodded.

"see ya later, loser. I'm just gonna go chill at home, watch a movie, maybe have a tub or two of ice cream." i saluted him and watched his face turn to disbelief. he walked back in the school with Noah as i started my bike and headed home.

i swerved through the streets, almost getting crushed between two cars because one of them was a moron. i had stopped in front of him even though the light was green and he honked. and honked. i didn't move.

"hey, chick, move would ya? I'm trying to get where I'm going, not sit in traffic all day." he opened his door and stomped over to me.

"should've thought of that before you decided to text." i shrugged. "you almost crushed me."

"maybe you should stay in the lanes then." he suggested.

"you know, i could have you killed."

"you? you're just a little girl. you can't do anything to me. I'm practically a god to you." i couldn't help it. i laughed until my stomach hurt, and i bent over, holding it, still laughing. i looked up to his shocked expression.

"what's so funny?"

"don't assume things about yourself when their that high. you're nothing. i could kill you here, but I'm just here killing time." i said, still smiling. he walked towards me and tried to slap me. i caught his hand and twisted it wrong, snapping his wrist in half. he clutched his hand to his chest and i yawned. he realized just how easy this was for me and backed off. he got back in his car. i got on my bike and started home again, zipping in and out of openings.

when i got home, i went up to my room, crashing on my bed. my mom and dad were at work, so i had the house to myself. but something didn't seem right. was it the quiet? was it the TV not being on, my dad not sitting in front of it? or was there something else? i left my bed, going down to the living room, crashing on the couch instead. i picked up the remote and started flipping through channels. day time TV sucks! i decided to get up and pick a DVD. ya, we're old school. we don't have Netflix, and we don't have hulu. since i was little, all our DVDs were always well taken care of and only very few got scratched. i went to the book shelf that had the top two shelves filled with DVDs and scanned through them, seeing Disney movies, like Finding Nemo, Mulan, Pocahontas, and several others. but i only liked a few Disney movies. since i was always exposed to the real life version of violent movies, my parents never shielded me from them. i picked Jurrasic Park three, carrying it to the TV. i changed the input and turned on the DVD player. i popped the DVD out of it's case and into the player. it closed and the commercials before the main menu started. while they played i went to find some snacks. i found a bag of M&Ms, some popcorn, a Dr Pepper, and some lays chips. they were the original. i don't really like the flavored ones. some of them are OK but most of them are terrible. but hey, that's just my opinion. other people are welcome to eat them. just not in my mouth. i sat down on the couch, surrounded by my snacks, munching, and watched the movie.

about halfway through the movie, i heard a loud crash. i turned my head to find robbers. i smirked. let's have some fun, shall we?
