song: one way or another by blondie

"Luke left and i don't know why."

Noah blinked and then stood up and walked upstairs. i followed.

"go get dressed. we'll go to the warehouse and find out all we can." i nodded sharply and ran up to my room, ignoring the pain that shot up my leg from my twisted ankle. it would be fine soon, but for right now it was still sore. i shot into my room and quickly grabbed my blood red cloak. I smeared off all the makeup I had on and redid it.

I did a dark smokey eye with thick lashes and winged eyeliner along with my trademark blood lipstick. I grabbed my black lace mask and ran out to the car where Noah already sat. we drove off and switched cars at camel storage garages -where we had stashed Rose's things.

we pulled up to the warehouse and I stepped out, my mask already on and my cloak wrapped around me, the hood covering my dark hair.

the guard opened the door at me saying the pass phrase: roses are red, violets are blue. blood is thick, gore is too.

I stormed down the hallway, Noah right behind me. I turned into a large room that was filled with desks, a huge tv on the wall (which was really a bunch of flat screen tvs put together) and hackers. lots and lots of hackers.

I stepped over to the guy in charge, Peter.

"I need a guy found." I ground out. he looked at me wide eyed and nodded.

"what's his name and do you have a picture?" I knew he would ask for a picture, so I went to the trouble to print out his facebook profile picture. it was one of me and him. I was sticking out my tongue and wrinkling my forehead, closing my eyes. he was looking at me, smiling wide and showing dimples.

"his name is Luke Murphey. he left the island and I need to find him." I stated, showing him the picture. he nodded quickly. he took a picture of it quickly with his ipod and uploaded it to the large screen on the wall. he then grabbed a walkie talkie head and pressed the button. his voice came over the room's loud speakers, quieting down the hackers who were chatting.

"this is a picture of Luke Murphey. we need him located ASAP. he has left the island, so start with airports." all the hackers jumped up from what they were doing and sat in their swivel chairs. they began typing furiously and munching on their snacks or drinks if they had them.

there were several hacking teams that specialized in certain areas of a computer or internet, etc. one group specialized in security cameras. another did computers via internet or virus and another did credit card scans or hacks. there were several other sections that hacked certain things, but I can't name them all. they all were part of a certain group because A) they all had specialties. and B) it kept everyone from hacking the same thing. that way everything got hacked evenly, heh.

I watched the large screen go back to the computers as they hacked and searched. it switched between all the computer screens in each section, one screen for each section. I paced back and forth, bored out of my mind. Noah stood and watched the screens, keeping his eye on the security camera department. suddenly a red light flashed at one of the desks and Peter took off immediately, going to the desk with the light. I followed closely and we stopped at the desk. the hacker pressed a button and the light turned off.

"what do you have?" he asked.

"I found Luke Murphey's credit card, and I found where it was last used."

"well then what are you waiting for? report!" Peter demanded. the hacker nodded and turned to his computer, which showed a map of the city.

"he used his credit card at a car rental and then at a gas station farther up the road. then he got a motel and I haven't found anything past that. i'll keep looking though." Peter nodded and went back to the stand that overlooked the entire room.

another light flashed, this time it was on the other side of the room. I followed again and the hacker reported.

"I've found him. this security tape is live and he's in the airport. he's getting a ticket."

"where is this?" I asked, leaning on the desk.

"a town almost ten hours away. if he was trying to get away from you, he was doing a good job. you can't make it there in time to stop him from boarding."

"you wanna bet?" I muttered. "get a hold of the plane mechanics. tell them that Rose, the faceless queen is watching them and if they don't do as you say, she will kill them. tell them to make a problem with the plane. put a hole in something, break something in the engine of the plane Luke's getting on, but just get them to delay that plane."

Peter nodded and went to a phone to get a hold of the crew. I went to Noah.

"I'm going after him. stay here and call me if anything new comes up." he nodded and I left, stomping out to the car. I drove off and traded cars, taking Noah's car back home before wiping off my makeup and taking off all my clothes. I rinsed off, taking a five minute shower before grabbing some clothes and boots.

i tore out the drive on my bike, riding as fast as i could, going over 100mph over the speed limit

i tore out the drive on my bike, riding as fast as i could, going over 100mph over the speed limit. if i got caught, i wouldn't care. I'm going to get my man back. he's not leaving me. not like this. not without and explanation. not without telling his mother. his mother for god's sakes! who the hell leaves their mother behind without telling her where he was going?

someone who isn't leaving. i realized with a start. someone who was running.

what the hell is going on?
