We Could Be In Love (English)

Chapter 1~ First Glimpse

"Who do you think you are??" the girl shouted at the guy. I supposed it was her boyfriend whom she was yelling at.

They're fighting. They've been fighting for an hour and I almost covered my ears not wanting to hear what they were fighting about. It's really annoying. I want to stop them but I don't have the right to do that. In the first place, I don't know what they are battling about. Secondly, they don't know me and obviously, I don't know them. Oh my! Of all places, they're here at the park having an argument and bothering me. Yes, they are definitely bothering me. I came here to forget my problems. Now, I can't even think clearly because of them.

"Bullshit!" I muttered. "Are they not ashamed?"

I stared at my watch as I remembered Lisa.

It's almost seven in the evening and she hasn't called me yet. I've been waiting for her call for an hour. My Aunt might not let her get some of the things that I'm going to use for tonight. Oh! I don't wanna go home. I wanna spend a night at Lisa's apartment. I'm not ready to talk to my aunt. Not now, at least. That's why I asked Lisa to go there instead of me to get things for me. Hope she'll be here soon because I don't wanna spend another hour here. It's not that I don't like it here. In fact, I love this place. I love being here. It's really nice to see the flowers all over the place, sitting on a bench under a tree watching its leaves swaying as if they're dancing especially when the wind blows. I just don't like to see a couple fighting.

"Didn't you hear what I said? Whatever happened to us was a big mistake. A very big mistake!"

I suddenly stopped thinking when I heard him yelled at her. I gazed at their direction. I could see him standing and facing her. They're just a few meters away. Though, I couldn't see them clearly I could tell what they were doing. The girl lowered her head crying. Why couldn't she defend herself? She shouldn't have trusted him. If I were in her place I would curse him to death. Really! I wouldn't cry in front of him nor show him I was hurt.

God! Men are bullshit!! They just wanna play games. They are going to be nice to you at first but when you finally fall for them and they get what they want from you you'll end up broken. They'll just dump you like a rug. That's why I haven't had any relationships. I hate men, I admit.

"I thought you loved me?" She said in a harsh tone.

"I never loved you, you knew that," he replied.

"Liar! Once you told me you loved me and you would never leave me, that you would always be there for me. Ever!" She screamed in anger. I even chose you over my family and now you're dumping me! What happened? You weren't like that during the first month of our relationship." She added.

"I can't be with you, Bella. This is wrong. I hope you get that. You're smart enough to understand what I am trying to tell you."

"So, that's all you can say after you promised me everything?!?"

"I want you to move on with your life. Have a happy life with someone who could love you not like me. I don't deserve the love that you give me. I'm not the one for you."

"And who do you think is the one for you? Who?? Answer me?? She roared.

"No one! I don't know? I just think I don't love you." He lowered his head. "You have to move on. Forget about me. Forget about everything that happened." He added.

"That's easy for you to say. If you think I can give up on you easily, then you're wrong. Wherever you go, I will also be there to follow you. I won't keep my distance from you. I won't stop until you become mine. Never!" She threatened him.

"You're crazy Bella!" He said as he laughed at her. Wow! This is simply ridiculous! Why don't they go home and sleep? This fight won't end, I guess. Hope a police officer will be here soon for them to stop because they're catching other peoples' attention now. But it seems that they don't even bother to look at their surrounding. Oh! God.

"Yeah, I'm crazy! I'm a crazy girl who chose the guy I love over my family. My parents kicked me out because of you, didn't you know that? I lost everything, my family, friends and even my dignity because of you! I don't have any of them now!" She screamed. "Now tell me! How would you fix all the things that have been broken? How would you return the things that have been lost to me? How???

"I can pay you. I can give you enough money to live a new life again."

I widened my eyes as I heard those words came out from his mouth. He's an asshole! How could he be so cruel? Paying the girl who almost gave everything to him. Gosh! I'm having a terrible headache now. I can't stand listening to their conversation any longer. Their fucking conversation! I wish Lisa would call me soon. Just when I pulled my phone from my pocket it also rang. Thank God it was Lisa. I hurriedly slid the unlock button.

"Lisa, where the hell are you?" I asked.

"Sorry Lex, but I'm still here at your house stuck with your aunt. She won't let me take some of your things if you won't talk to her and...

"And what?" I asked when she stopped talking.

"Alexis!" I rolled my eyes when I heard my aunt's voice. Obviously, Lisa gave her the phone.

"I already told you I don't want to go home," I said it in a calm voice trying to control my irritation. Though I'm not in the mood, I should manage not to be rude to her. I still have some respect for her.

"We can't solve this problem without us talking." I could hear her sighed.

"Mom." It's weird but yes, I call her mom despite the fact that she isn't my real mother. "Please give me some time to think this over. I'm not ready to talk about the issue you brought up earlier." I explained.

"But I still want you to go home."

I shook my head though she couldn't see me doing it. "As I said, please give me some time and let Lisa take some of my things. I'll be spending a night at her place just for tonight. Don't worry I'll be fine." I assured her.

"Okay, but be sure to come back home." She finally agreed.

"Yes, I will. Now, will you please give the phone back to Lisa I just wanna speak to her."

"Okay." She said then she gave the phone to Lisa.

"Lex, it's me." Finally, Lisa spoke on the other line.

"Now grab some of my things there and leave. I'll be waiting for you. . . "Idiot!" I said when I spotted the girl running after the guy trying to stop him from leaving. "For God's sake, she's begging him." I almost forgot that I was talking with Lisa. "Sorry," I said when I realized she just kept quiet. " Lis, are you still there?"

"Yeah, I'm here. It's just that I heard you were saying something."

"I'm sorry." I apologized.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I was just pissed."

"Because of me?" She asked.

"Nope, why would I be? It was just a random shit of couple fighting around." I explained then she sighed.

"Anyway, where do you want us to meet?"

"I guess I'll be waiting for you at ACE's." It's a restaurant where Lisa and I mostly go. "Just send me a message when you're on your way there. Let's have dinner there too." I added.

"Sure!" That was all she said when she hung up the phone. I sighed. "Time to go," I told myself then I started walking to the parking lot to get my car. "At last! I won't be hearing them yelling at each other."I said as I looked at their direction. It's the most horrible scene I have ever witnessed!
