"You wanna stay for a sec?" Lisa asked me as I stopped the car in front of her apartment.

"Maybe some other time. I still have a lot of things to get done." I answered her right away without giving her a glimpse.

"Oh.. I see. Are you sure you're okay?" She asked me hesitantly.

I nodded, still not looking at her while my hands were gripping on the stirring wheel. I knew that I wasn't okay but I had no interest to talk about it again.

"I'm sorry for hiding it from you. I really am." She looked guilty as I turned my eyes to her angelic face. "If only I could do something to make you forgive me." Her tears were about to shed and I didn't know how to prevent her from crying. Yeah, I was furious about what they did to me but I wasn't this bad person who would likely to see my best friend weep. She was like a sister to me. I wanted to embrace her but I couldn't. The other side of my brain told me not to while the other was really forcing me to forgive her. But I still chose not to do any actions. I did my very best to resist it. The worst thing was, the good and bad side of me were wrangling inside and it made me feel wobbly.

"You shouldn't feel guilty about the decision you already made. You chose to do it. So that means you already knew the consequences that it might have brought to you." I said mockingly. My words were not that bad I guessed. Besides, what I just exclaimed was true. She should have borne that in mind.

Her cheeks flushed when those words tumbled from my mouth. I couldn't keep my thoughts anymore. "Lex..." She wasn't able to pull her tears back as she mentioned my name. I felt sorry for her but she should have learned her lessons. I was her best friend. She knew me better than Glenn. She should have thought about that. Was that the result of falling in love? To let your heart ruled your brain? It was completely unreasonable!

"Dry your eyes. You should have thought about that before. You'd better go now ." I commanded her.

"Lex..." She spoke again between her sob. "Please tell me what I have to do in order for you to forgive me again. I want you to trust me again."

"What?"

"I will do whatever you want."

Her statement somehow gave me an idea. "Are you sure you'll do what I want?" I asked her though I was not that convinced that she could do things I would ask her to.

"Yeah... Whatever you want." She gulped and pulled her floral handkerchief from her purse.

"Okay. If that's what you want I will give you a task but be sure that Glenn won't know about it." I warned her.

"I promise." She said as she stopped wiping her eyes and face with her handkerchief. "What do you want me to do?" Her voice was husky because of crying.

"Well, you can still go out with Glenn. I'm not stopping you from doing that. I just want you to know Graynard's schedule. Where and when he goes. That way, I could start my plan of knowing the secrets of my family. And I Guess, that is the simplest task I can ever give you."

"You want me to make friends with him?"

"Lisa, where's your brain? Of course, the information will come from him without his knowledge. You can also go to their house if it's necessary. Anyway, it's up to you. You set a plan for that. All I want to know is his daily activities."

"I can also ask Glenn about the history of your family. I think he won't be selfish enough to share it to me."

I smirked. "You're just wasting your time Lisa. Glenn will never do that. You've already proven it."

"But...."

"You want me to forgive you, right?"

"Yeah"

So, do what I want, no ifs ands or buts."

She sighed before answering me. "Okay. I will do what you want. When do you want me to start?"

"As soon as possible," I said and she nodded. "Just call me if you get enough info."

"Will everything be okay after I do what you want?" She questioned as if she was a five-year-old kid who was asking for assurance from her parents.

"Do your task first then we gonna talk about that again," I said and it made her agree with me.

"I will do my best Lex." She reassured me.

"Good luck." My response made her face lightened up after several minutes of crying.

"I gotta go." She freed herself from her seatbelt and opened the door.

"Bye," I said as she finally went out of my car. I started the ignition again and drove away.
