Chapter 25~ The surprise visit

Lisa and I had a heart to heart conversation after she talked with her dearly-loved "Glenn". I found out that she was the one who took him to the hospital. I was just thankful coz she went there to visit him. If she hadn't, Glenn might have been dead. He was such a lucky person coz she had my best friend Lisa who was always there for him.

I could still remember Lisa's face while telling me what happened. Her eyes were full of fears. Fears of losing him in her life. She even cried in front of me when she remembered that incident. And like her best friend, I did my very best to comfort her. Frankly speaking, I couldn't imagine myself crying because of the man I loved. I cared about Glenn coz he was my brother and a friend but it was not the same as what Lisa felt about him. She really loved him that she couldn't afford to see him dead and left her once and for all. I didn't want Glenn to die either but in Lisa's case, she was like a crazy woman when it came to him. She was madly in love with him.

We spent hours in the hospital before I left. I told Glenn that I would be back the next day and he agreed. Lisa chose to stay there so that she could take care of him. I didn't even bother myself to ask him again about our mother. He might have become gloomy again if I had mentioned it to him. For sure, our mother had no idea about him being hospitalized. Well, I didn't give a shit if she had no idea at all. It was all her fault. If it wasn't because of her, it wouldn't have happened to Glenn. He was right. She was a monstrous kind of woman. She was dangerous and we had to be careful.

"Alexis?" My aunt's voice woke me up from deep thought. I wasn't aware of her presence since my mind was totally occupied. I just stayed in my room when I arrived home. I had to get some sleep so I could go back to the hospital tomorrow and helped Lisa in taking care of Glenn.

"Hey, mom." I smiled at her but it suddenly vanished when I noticed something odd in her. What was that?

"Someone paid you a visit." She said dryly. "He's downstairs, waiting for you."

I swallowed my saliva. What the hell! Who was it? "I can't remember that I asked someone to come here," I said innocently.

"An unexpected visitor Alexis? When do you plan to tell me you've got a boyfriend?" She spoke roughly. There was a trace of anger in her voice.

"What?" My eyes widened, bewildered by what she said. "I don't know what you are talking about?" Shit! I really didn't have the faintest idea who my visitor was.

"Go downstairs and talk to him." She ordered. "I need to hear your explanation right after he leaves." She quickly stepped out of my room.

"Boyfriend?? Who might be this asshole who's claiming to be my boyfr-----SHIT!!" I squeaked as a sudden idea crossed my mind. There was only one person whom I could think of. I hastily walked out of my room and headed downstairs.

Blood drained from my face as my eyes found Graynard talking with my aunt. I almost fell from the stairs when I recognized the shirt he was wearing. Oh no! And what sort of game he was playing? He might have gotten a real kick out of annoying me.

Holy cow! My heart was in my mouth when his attention shifted to me. Our eyes met. He grinned. He was really fond of driving me up to the wall. And what were they talking about? I turned my gaze to my aunt. She was obviously mad at me.

"What are you doing here?" I huffed as I walked towards them.

"Babe?" He smiled wickedly as I narrowed my eyes at him. Babe?? Babe your mouth!!! I pursed my lips.
