Graynard's POV

It was seven in the morning when I rose from the bed and checked the time on my watch. I wasn't supposed to be awake this early but the ringing of my phone was bugging me. "Holy shit!" I growled. It had been ringing for a hundred times I supposed. But, when I was about to pick it up, the ringing stopped. "Who might be this fucking caller?" I murmured. I grabbed my phone only to find ten missed calls and three messages from someone.

<first msg>*where the hell are you?*

<2nd msg>*why aren't you answering my call?*

<3rd msg>*what the hell Graynard!! Where are you? If you don't come here right away I will tell everyone your fucking secret!!!"

Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Why did someone have to screw up my day!?! I furiously tossed my phone on the carpeted floor and it made me feel more infuriated when it buzzed again. I lazily picked it up and answered it.

"What the heck is your problem?" I spoke in a wrathful voice.

"Why didn't you come last night?!" The caller was obviously nagging me.

"Can't you understand that I'm busy here? And... You were threatening me. You know you can't scare me." I warned.

"I'm sorry. I just have an important thing to tell you. I'm in the....."

"You're what?!" But the line was suddenly cut off. "Shit!" I hissed. I placed my phone on my desk and headed to the bathroom. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. After that, I grabbed a shirt from the closet and quickly headed downstairs.

The surrounding was so quiet like there weren't anybody living in this shitty house. I could only hear my own footsteps. Why on earth they had to buy such a big house where in fact only three people were living in here.? I made my way to the kitchen. There I saw Beth making breakfast. I always thought that it was really funny to wake up in the morning in someone else's house. I always felt that I was just a stranger in here which was actually true. A stranger who wandered in this huge house and lived with people who didn't have any single drop of my blood in their veins. But I had no choice. All along it was my father who financed me with all the things I needed and wanted. Indeed, his money was still important. The only thing I was concerned about was the way Beth treated me in this house. She was acting like she was my mother which I really hated. I didn't want anybody to do that to me for the fact that I grew up without a mother by my side.

"Good morning." I greeted her. She turned to me and smiled.

"How's your sleep?" She asked.

"Good." She smiled again. I lied even if it wasn't. Of course! Who would be happy if someone interrupted your sleep? I grabbed a cup and a saucer and started making my coffee. The clanking of the spoon broke the silence in the kitchen. I wasn't in the mood to have such long conversations with her so I just focus on stirring my coffee.

"Well... Breakfast is ready." She informed me and started putting plates on the table. My eyes travelled to the thick pancakes with syrup and blueberries, topped off with a few rashers of bacon. Wow! I suddenly felt hungry. When I was in Washington I never had a chance to have breakfast at home. I always left home without eating. Well, my dad was always busy and never had time to cook for me.

I noticed the two plates that she took out of the dish cabinet. "Where's Glenn?" I asked as I pulled a chair and sat down.

"He wants to talk to Alexis so I let him go." She sat down across from me.

My left brow raised. "Why didn't you go there as well.? Don't you want to see her?" I sounded like an investigator hope she wasn't offended by my questions.
