Billie:

The three of us stood there, our feet plastered to the cement sidewalk outside of a strip club. Wonderful. Nobody dared to move, I probably should of opened my mouth but for the first time ever I was speechless.. Adrienne's cold brown eyes were locked on mine, the look on her face showed a heart that had just shattered into a million tiny pieces. It was as if the whole world stood still and suddenly went mute.

Melanie cleared her throat. "This is a horrible first impression, I'm so sorry.." She trailed off as Adrienne began to step closer and closer towards us.

"Addie what are you doi-" I began, but before I could finish she had her hand raised slapping Melanie hard across the face.

"Oh my god Adrienne! What the fuck is wrong with you!" I yelled. Melanie stood there with her hand holding the now red and stinging part of her cheek where Adrienne had left her mark. "Are you okay?" I asked her desperate for an answer. Neither of them spoke. The silence terrified me. We now had a whole group of people standing around us staring, waiting on the next move.

"Whose it gonna be Billie me or her?" Adrienne asked in an eerily calm voice.

I looked back and forth between the two of them. I could see the tears forming in Melanie's eyes.

"Ya know what... Let me help!" Melanie yelled. "I'm not doing this anymore! You're both fucking insane you belong together.." She paused for a moment watching my face turn from awe to shock. "Billie Joe, do me a favor and stay the hell away from me and my daughter."

The last of her words broke me. I felt a hitch in my throat and suddenly I was furious..

"Look what you've done!" I screamed towards Adrienne. "You've ruined my fucking life! Are you happy now?" I was so close to her face I could feel her breath. By now Melanie was long gone and the thought of never seeing her or Lilly again infuriated me.

"Bill.. Billie..." She stuttered. I cut her off. "You want an answer so damn bad!? Here it is, I choose her Adrienne she hates me and obviously wants nothing to do with me but I still choose HER!!" The crowd around us started to disappear, apparently it was considered lame to watch a married couple fight over another woman. Adrienne remained quiet.

"I'll see you in court." I mumbled before shoving my hands in my sweatshirt pockets and walking away.
