Billie:

"Last night was amazing." Adrienne looked up at me smiling, her head was pressed on my chest.

"It was wasn't it?" I smirked looking into her beautiful brown eyes.

Her smile quickly faded. "I've missed you Billie Joe. I'm just.. I'm so scared."

"Scared of what Addie?" I asked concerned. "Not scared of me right?"

She laughed slightly. "No not of you baby, of how different things are going be from now on."

I stroked her hair gently. "Things only ever change for the better." I said reassuringly. She nodded and stood up out of bed.

"I'm going to run to the store really quick so I can make breakfast." She pulled on a pair of sweatpants and a t shirt.

"You want me to go babe?" I asked.

"No you relax ill be back soon." She kissed my forehead before leaving.

I laid in bed for a few more minutes staring at the ceiling, that is until I heard the door bell ring. "Ugh." I groaned pulling a pair of pajama pants over my waist.

The stairs creaked as I slowly walked down them, I ran my fingers through my hair and opened the front door.

"Tre.. What are you doing here? It's to damn early.." I mumbled letting him in.

"I think the question is what are you doing here?" He asked me serious.

"Whatcha mean? It's my house." I looked at him quizzical and slightly annoyed.

"Mhm." He rolled his eyes. "Did you have a nice night sleeping beauty?" He looked me up and down sarcastically.

"As a manor of fact I did." I pushed passed him and walked towards the living room plopping myself down on the couch. He followed behind me.

"I've been trying to call you all morning.. And a few times last night." He tapped his fingers against the door way.

"Oh well.. My phone must be off. What's your problem anyway?" I began flipping through the channels.

He ignored my response. "Did you by any chance forget about something yesterday?" He stared at me as if the answer was right there in plain sight.

"I don't know Tre. Did I?" I asked him clueless.

"I'll give you a hint." He smirked. "Her name starts with Mel and ends in E!!" He yelled pissed off that I wasn't understanding.

"SHIT!" I jumped off the couch panicking now. "Fuck! I forgot! She's going to hate me!" I looked around the living room finding a white t shirt hanging from the back of the couch I slid it on and ran for my cell phone in the kitchen, Adrienne must had put it on the charger.

Six missed calls three text messages.

Melanie 7:45am: Did you get to the school okay?

Melanie 9am: Hello??

Melanie 12pm: Same old Billie, always forgetting about what's important.

I found her number in my contacts and pressed call, no answer. "Dammit!" I yelled. "Wait a minute..." I looked over at Tre who was still standing in the same spot as calm as ever. "How did you know I had plans with her yesterday?" I glared.

"We went out for dinner last night." He said quietly but completely unashamed. A rage of jealousy burned through me.

"YOU went out to dinner with MY Melanie!?" I raised my voice.

"She's not yours Billie Joe, if she were you would of never forgotten about her." He shook his head disappointed. "She doesn't deserve that."

"You think you know what she deserves and I don't Tre? Well guess the fuck what! She's MY high school sweetheart she's the mother of MY daughter." I paused not wanting to go any further but knowing I couldn't hold my emotions back anymore. "And while you're wishing she was yours Tre like you've been for the past ten years.. I'm the one inside of her, I'm the one actually screwing her, I'm the one she's thinking about every night before she falls asleep! So back the fuck off.." I seethed. I looked up at him to see a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth which only enraged me more.

"Alls I've ever wanted was for you to be happy Billie. That's all." He stopped speaking. "Ya know there's this wise old saying.. If you love two people at the same time choose the second because if you really loved the first one you would of never fallen for the second." He lowered his voice.

I cupped my face into the palm of my hands and leaned over onto the kitchen counter. "So whose the second one? Adrienne or Melanie?" I choked on my own words hoping desperately that he would give me the answer I had been looking for.

"Well it must be Adrienne.. Because Melanie's done with you." He rubbed his forehead in frustration. "Can you blame her?" He asked before walking away.

I shook my head and proceeded to call Melanie four more times with no answer. It must of been true, she hates me.
