Frankie's Point of View
--
I fade back to life only to find that it is completely different than I thought. One of few people I trust has been hiding Zach from me for a week! Just that thought makes me angry. I want to just go up to Casey and-UGH! My wrists hurt from the strong and tight metal bands and my ankles are all red. I'm only not doing anything to Casey because I physically can't and because I need to know why she did this to Zach.
Casey hasn't only betrayed me with Zach, she also has caused so much havoc in my life! She is over here trying to play the pity card so I would feel bad for her just long enough for her to slip the needle into my arm! She must have access to advanced medicine if she can control my body with a small little puncture! You would think Casey would at least have enough sense to use her advancements in medicine to help find the cure and save my family!
My friend is on her death bed and Casey just using up electricity somehow and having farther advancements in medicine than we ever thought possible! How could someone be that cruel to not want to help out fellow human!
"I see your up" , the miserable creature spits out.
"Yes. All thanks to you." I force through gritted teeth.
"Well, have you looked at your boy friend yet?"
"Um... No", I flinch and she notices how much I am struggling to hold back.
"You know what, I feel nice today. I'll actually let you touch him too. Just make sure you don't go crazy or else."
The clamps on my arms and legs open and I fall to the ground, barley catching myself. When I look up I feel a very strong urge to lunge at Casey, but I don't.
Zach first, then Casey.
I dash over to him, even though he is right next to me, it seems like a distance.
My hand falls upon his face, how pale his whole body is. I put my finger to his neck and feel a faint, but steady pulse.
"He's barely alive!" I stammer.
"Yes, but that's just how I want it." She says taking a step towards me, needle in hand.
"But you can't just do that! It's.. It's inhumane!"
"So?", she states flinging the needle like a small baton between her fingers.
"I can't believe you!", I take a step closer to Casey, letting my hand slide off Zach. "My friends and family are all dead because of the plague YOU have the cure to! I mean you must have it! With all this technology, it must be somewhere in here!"
Casey's face falls for a second, but soon she regains her composure.
"Are you telling me that with ALL this technology and advancements in medicine, you haven't found the CURE?!", I take a step closer while raising my voice.
She takes a step closer and raises the needle. I try not to show how scared I am inside...I hope it's working.
I can feel her breath on mine. It stinks of lies and loss.
Casey stabs the needle into my arm, harder than the first time. She doesn't even bother to press the top of the needle slowly so that the liquid is less painful joining my blood stream. It gushes in. As soon as I start to fall the world darkens. No one catches me this time and I dream-like feel my head hit something as the world goes dark again.
'I will save Zach, even with Casey in my way', is my last conscience thought.
