Frankie's Point of View

--

Bright lights. So bright. So different from the darkness I was just in.

Did I die? No. I can move my hands. I can kick my legs. I have a body.

What just happened?

"She's awake. I see her feet and hands moving!" Some lady's voice says. It sounds so familiar. Wait. Could it be?

I open my eyes. In front of me are 3 people, my mom, my dad, and Sierra.

I'm a little confused... Weren't they all dead? Not that I'm complaining.

I start to voice my thoughts to the three people grinning down at me. "Weren't you all-", I get stopped short.

"Frankie! We all missed you so much!" Sierra says before gripping me in a tight hug. I lose my breath from how tight the hug is and end up gasping for air.

"Sierra, honey, we don't want to squeeze Frankie to death after what just happened."

That's when it dawned on me. What did happened? All I know is that I'm in some sort of hospital bed and the people I love and care about that were dead are now alive.

I should really get my life filmed.

"What happened?"

My dad sits on the edge of the bed.

"The doctor said you might have some memory loss. You were running in a track meet and right when you finished, you passed out. You hit your head on a rock and became unconscious. You have been out for a week now."

My lips form an "O" and I smile. I must have dreamed up that entire tragedy.

-

My family, my best friend and I spend the next few hours waiting for me to be released to go home. On the way home I can't help grinning.
