Chapter 7

I didn't tell my friends and sister about my findings and decided I'd tell them when lunchtime came.

The three periods before lunch dragged on and as soon as the bell rang for lunch, I was out of the classroom like a bullet.

We meet up at the oak tree and decide to go to The Milky Way, our favourite hang-out spot in all of town.

We get there and Samantha gets two scoops of cookie dough flavoured ice-cream, Heather gets one scoop of chocolate ice-cream, Amelia gets one scoop of vanilla ice-cream and I get two scoops of butter toffee.

“The weirdest shit happened just before second period,” and I start telling them about the chocolates the flowers and especially the card after we've settled down at a vacant table.

“So will you go?” Samantha poses this question.

“I don't think she should. What if it's Ethan and all he wants to do is get in her pants?” Amelia interjects before I could say anything.

“What do you mean she shouldn't go? This could her chance to meet the love of her life. You'll never know unless you take a chance and make the best out of it.” Heather says before I could get in a word.

This is so typical of my friends.

Before anyone else gives me a piece of their mind, I say something. “I know that you all want what's best for me, but please remember that this is my decision. I choose whether or not to meet up with Mystery Guy.”

I give them a look that shows them how serious I am.

And I know I have made my decision.

I will meet up with Mystery Guy.

Fifteen minutes later, the girls and I are back at school. The periods after lunch drag on and I couldn't wait for the bell to ring, signaling the end of the day.

When the bell does finally ring, I bolt out of the class faster than you could say Usain Bolt.

I find myself sitting on the bleachers, waiting. I wait for about three minutes before I see a figure walking towards me.

He is wearing black jeans, a grey v-neck t-shirt and has a red flannel shirt wrapped around his waist. To top off his outfit, he is wearing old and worn out black boots.

His shadow looks so hot as the sun accentuates his silhouette.

His dark hair shining under the sun.

He almost looks angelic.

I smile, but my smile falters as soon as I realise the angel walking towards me.

He gets to where I'm sitting and surely, my suspicions are correct.

It is, indeed, Ethan.

The nerve this guy has.

After putting me through that he still has the audacity to stand in front of me and "romance" me. I swear to myself not to fall for whatever he has to say.

“Hi,” he says as he runs a hand through his already messy hair. He looks nervous, a look I thought I'd never see on Ethan's face.
