1.2 "Give Me A Break"

Next day.

I opened my eyes when i felt someone shaking me.

I smiled when i saw Eric holding my hand.

He smiled "hey"

I smiled and sat up. 

Then I slowly moved over to his bed and sat down next to him.

Then I hugged him "How are you, bro?"

Eric shrugged  "you know...I've been better"

I smiled and hugged him "i missed you so much"

Eric "Must be a lot of rumors about why you're back. "

He looked at Serena and sighed "Both of you at the same time"

I looked at her and saw her looking at us "i couldn't care less about rumors "

Serena looked at Eric  "none of them mentioned you, though"

I sighed annoyed  "Just like Mom wants, right?"

Suddenly she walked inside "What i want, baby? For you and your sisters to sleep in their own beds, possibly wearing pajamas"

I fake smiled "Morning, mother. I was just about to ask the doctor if i can take Eric to breakfast. You know, since prison food isn't exactly something you would like to wake up to"

Mom rolled her eyes and shook her head "i think what i'll do is go get him a croissant down the street."

Then she walked out.

I growled "Hell no"

Then I got out of the bed. 

Serena "Fla, don't"

I walked out of the door. 

Eric called after my "Fla, it's not worth it, please"

Mom made her way to the elevator.

I called out "Mom!"

She turned to me. 

Me " what did you tell everybody this time? That Eric's just visiting grandpa in Rhode island?"

Mom "your aunt Carol in Miami"

I crossed my arms over my chest, shaking my head "You can't just hide him. He tries to take his own life, and you're worried it's gonna cost you "mom of the year"? That's pathetic, mother"

Mom "Flavia, you've been gone, doing who knows what with god knows who-"

Me "Oh come on, Mom! I wasn't even at boarding school! Give that speech Serena but not me"

Mom "as happy as i am to have you home, sweetheart, you had to be here to know what it's been like"

I scoffed. 

 The elevator door opened and Mom walked inside.

Home.

Serena and i walked through the gate and went to walk to the building but got held back when we saw Nate standing there.

I stopped walking.

Serena looked at him and then at me  "I'll wait upstairs"

I nodded "thanks"

Then she walked inside.

I waked to him"Nate"

Nate "hey, your mom told me you guys were staying here at the Palace"

Me "Yeah, guess why, we're renovating again. You know my mom - if it's not broke, break it."

He chuckled. I really did miss his smile.
