Downstairs.

I was on my way to the stairs when Dan walked inside.

Nate walked downstairs to me "what's taking so long?"

Dan "huh, i guess i missed a chapter"

I walked to Nate to block the path to the steps. Chuck and Blair walked into the living room. Chuck had a plate of beagles in his hand.

Dan "or...five. don't uh.. don't all of you hate each other?"

Blair nodded "yes"

Nate nodded "absolutely"

Chuck nodded "of course"

I shrugged "nah"

Dan "well, that's fascinating and ripe for a psychiatrist's case study somewhere. But i am looking for Serena"

Chuck "she's not here"

Dan nodded "i think she is"

Blair shook her head "no, she just left. You must've crossed paths. "

Dan "i-i-i- don't believe you"

Blair sighed "fine. i didn't want to have to tell you this, but..she doesn't wanna see you, Dan"

He chuckled "come on, really"

I nodded "really"

Suddenly Dan tried to walked to he stairs "Serena!"

Nate and i blocked his path.

Nate "she's telling you the truth, man"

Dan "are you really gonna stop me from seeing my girlfriend?"

He sighed and tried to press himself past Nate and me but Chuck got in front of me.

Suddenly we heard Serena "what are you doing?"

She walked downstairs in a robe.

Me "Ser?"

Serena looked at me and nodded "it's okay"

She walked to him.

Dan "what's happening?"

Serena sighed "Dan."

Dan "something is going on and i just want to be let in on what it is"

Serena "It's hard to explain"

Dan sighed "why don't i make it easy for you?I know you're keeping something from me, and i'm sick of being the only one you don't talk to about it. "

Serena "i'm not talking to anyone"

Dan "then what are they doing here, while i get a call from a bartender who says you left a bar at 2:00 in the morning with a bunch of guys? what guys, Serena? wo-who were they?"

I turned to the side. I knew what was about to happen.

I looked up and saw Nate looking at me with worry.

Serena "i don't know"

I mouthed to him "I'm fine"

He raised an eyebrow but nodded.

Dan "did somethig happen last night?"

Serena "please, don't"

Dan "is that- is that what you're so afraid to tell me, that you cheated on me? did you cheat on me last night?"

she didn't say anything.

Dan "all i need is a yes or a no. did you sleep with someone else?"

Serena lied "yes"
