Next day evening. At Blair's.

Guess the news, grams is sick. And now my family wants me to go the the ball for her. of course she had to pull that card out.

 I was walking around in the penthouse.

Eleanor and Blair were throwing a gathering.

I walked around when i heard grams calling my name.

Grams "Flavia, darling"

I walked to her.

She pointed at the guy next to her "this is Carter Baizen. your escort for tomorrow night"

I scoffed and shook my head  "no"

Grams asked surprised "do you two already know each other?"

Carter smiled, charming as ever "actually, we are former lovers. "

Grams eyes widened "Flavia, you never told me you had a boyfriend. especially none as charming as this gentleman. Why did you end things?"

I sighed "Grams, please, not the place, definitely not the time"

Carter smiled at me.

Kati, Is, Blair, Dan, mom, Serena, grams, Carter and i were sitting around the sofa table. I was sitting next to Carter on the sofa.

Grams gave Dortota a glass "i don't like my drinks cold"

Dorota "of course miss"

I rolled my eyes.

Grams "Carter, it is such a pleasure to have you back with us. True Gentlemen are a rare breed."

Blair "so it is true that you're back?"

Dan "back? um, where--where were you?"

Kat"oh, where wasn't he? he disowned his parents and took off around the world."

Carter "in all honesty, i did go a little out of bounds. "

Grams giggled. She was starting to get drunk.

Carter chuckled charmingly "i'm just grateful my parents are giving me a second chance. "

Grams looked at me "Carter saw the error of his wayward ways, and he rose like a phoenix from the ashes, Flavia"

I nodded "i know, grams"

Carter "i mean, they weren't all errors, but.."

He winked at me. I rolled my eyes.

mom "well, your mother did tell me that you got into a bit of a-ahem.a scrape in Dubai"

She took a spoon of her cake.

Blair "oh,i love Dubai. did you stay at the Burj Al Arab?"

Carter "no, i stayed on palm island. "

I sighed "Oh my goodness"

Carter put a hand on my thigh. 

Grams cheered happily when she saw that.

I looked at Carter who smirked at me.
